The place was packed. Service was good and friendly. Food was not consistent. The appetizers were soggy and average. Mole is really good but cold. I know it is rated as one of the best but try to find more local options.

Thank MTorre

Great restaurant worth traditional Poblano food. Definitely worth stopping in and having a great meal. The tacos árabes were fantastic.

Thank patz127
Management response:

Hello Patz. Thank you for visiting us. Tacos Arabes as much of the food from Puebla come from the richness of the mixtures of cultures. Puebla was a crossroad between Europe, Asia and America, that reflects on its culinary legacy. Hope to see you again in Puebla soon :) More

Although you will have to wait, the food and service will make it worth it. The house is quite pretty and the dishes while quite classic, are not less than you can expect. Try it!

We ate many times in this restaurant and every time we go back to the hotel happy. Very close to the zocalo and our hotel, so we ate dinner and back to hotel to sleep. They give us a free small appetizer. The price may be higher end for Mexicans , but not for Americans.

Thank Miho E

We had a little trouble getting served (staff mix up, I think) but once we did we had a very nice dinner and drinks. Our waiter was unable to tell us about the murals, unfortunately.

Thank Jane L
Management response:

Hi Jane! Thank you for your visit. Murals are part of our culture, through them we try to show the culture of Puebla and Mexico. The Mural of Mexican Sayings is a mixture of wisdom and laughness. Hope to see you again! More

We enjoyed our lunch at this restaurant which is one of the more authrntic, less touristy eateries in downtown Puebla. The menu has all the standard cuisine dishes from this region of Mexico, including, of course, mole poblano nina variety of preparations, chalupas, tacos de chicharrón, etc. Servioce was very attentive and quick. The final bill for 6 was very... More

Thanks!!! We always look to respect the original cuisine of Puebla. This part of Mexico had the opportunity to mix prehispanic dishes and ingredients of many parts of the world. Puebla was a crossroad between Asia and Europe between the 1500s and the 1700s. Being in the heart of the historic center of Puebla makes us part of this legacy.... More

El Mural is choice spot for traditional Mexican food with an emphasis on traditional Puebla dishes. I highly recommend it. I recommend the mole as a main dish but check the menu for seasonal dishes. We tried the specials "Escamoles" (ant eggs) and "Gusanos de Maguey" or cactus worms. These are of course an acquired taste but plenty on the... More

Food was top-of-the-line--great takes on Poblano dishes, Our waiter was very attentive and helpful. Pleasant, lively atmosphere and location near the center of the historic area. Couldn't ask for better. It is often full, so reservations recommended.
