If you enjoy getting away from the crowds and seeing a bar more than 70 years old, right on the water, go to JJ's Cantina. The walls are lined with pictures from years and years ago. It is quaint, and out of the way, hence lots of locals call it "there bar". It has lots of room outdoors, for eating,... More

We rode out to Cholla Bay to see the town. Quaint desrted fishing town. We found JJs Cantina. A visit to Rocky Point must include a stop at JJs. Order fish tacos, burgers, fries, or quesadillas. Carry your food and drinks down to the cement tables and enjoy the view. Vendors selling colorful wall hangings on the beach. Great fun!!!

When you sit out on the back deck you can't beat the view. I was craving American food after a lot of burritos, tamales, chiles, etc. They have a cheeseburger to die for. Simple but so delicious. The staff was fun and friendly. Great place to stop for a drink and some food with atmosphere.

If you haven't visited JJ's, you need to include it in your Mexico experience. As Roger Clyne says" my second home is a third world cantina...". Come watch the tide come in, the dolphins in the bay, drink a cerveza, and toast the sunset.

The views are awesome and the drinks are reasonable. Always treated like a "local" when you walk in and never feel out of place.

Spending time at JJs Cantina is an experience, from watching the people to sitting on the beach watching the fishing boats to simply being on Cholla Bay. Visiting Rocky Point must include a stop at JJs. Order up fish tacos, burgers and fries, BBQ or quesadillas. Carry your snacks with drinks down to the cement benches and tables and enjoy... More

The location of this bar is very far from Penasco and often requires a truck instead of a car due to the road. Once you arrive and sit outside you realize why so many love it here. The bar was full of American's which from the conversations transplanted from the states. Its a little far to travel but a great... More

Place has not changed much and does need updating but perfect location. Ok food. Average. Drinks excellent, but again for the area and being the only hotspot in town they really need to update the place because it could be a hit and everyone would come because the location and atmosphere are awesome. Potential 5 star but for now 3... More

JJ's hasn't changed a bit in the approx. 30 years we've been going to the Puerto Penasco area. It will probably change dramatically once the cruise terminal gets finished and the ships arrive. Right now, all the other reviews are true at one time or another. The place can be cold, it can be hot, there is no service, the... More

Great place to sit and enjoy watching the tides rise and fall filling up the bay. Able to sit outside and relax. They have food, also.
