We ate here based on reviews on TA and did not disappoint. The service, food and ambience, background music was perfect. We both had one of their regional pork specialties based on our server's recommendation and margaritas. It was one of the best meals we had so far traveling around Mexico. As far as location- from the Best Western Ceballo... More

I looked up TA to find good local restaurants to the Hotel Ceballos. We three middle aged men walked along the road into the dark suburb, not threatening at all. After a twist and turn we found another listed (in an old guidebook) restaurant closed and then came across the fabulous setting of this establishment. Church, gardens, fountain (OK dry!)... More

This is a wonderful traditional Colima restaurant. The food is well-prepared typical cuisine, and the staff treat customers with old-fashioned courtesy. The loveliest thing, I think, is the location. It is situated on a small jardin with a fountain, next to a very pretty little church. It is a wonderfully cool oasis in the city. I have frequented this restaurant... More

This is a lovely authentic Colima restaurant, not fancy or pretentious at all, but if you are looking for delicious local cuisine this is an excellent place. The setting is quiet and lovely in a small garden plaza called San Jose. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. It is an outdoor garden setting so expect a few flies buzzing... More

I have spent a lot of time in Colima when it's cooler and El Charco de la Higuera is my and my Mexican family's favorite. We usually order the tatemado but the menu offers many other dishes. It's open air or outdoor seating with excellent and attentive service. Great food and ambiance at reasonable prices. .
