A friend and I went in for dinner at St. James and absolutely loved it. If you like Irish Pubs, this is the one to go to in Banff. We both had the Chicken and Leek pie and it was perfect for a cold Canadian...More

Of all the lovely restaurants and cafes we have been to over the last 3 weeks this, sadly, did not rate as one of the better ones. Beers were pricey compared to other places in Banff and the food was just average.

Stopped in for a late lunch in late October and was delighted by the wonderful food. It was fairly busy but we didn't have too much trouble finding a cozy corner.

Staff and food were wonderful. The flatbread with bacon was awesome! Some type of sweet garlic sauce make it a favorite dish for me. The crab and asparagus soup was great on a cold day.

We ate an authentic Irish dinner at the Saintt Jame's Gate Olde Irish Pub. I had fish and chips and they were as good as what you get in Europe.

We called in here for a meal while we were in Banff for a couple of days and were pleasantly surprised. The Irishness was a little un-authentic but that didn't take away from how good a meal or bar it was. We've been in Irish...More

And Yorkies! These are our favourite appetizer, little Yorkshire puddings filled with roast beef and horseradish sauce. Double yum! But they also have a great selection of beers, and our meals were great. The Bangers and Mash was delicious, and made from high quality locally...More

Visited this unique Irish pub in the middle of the afternoon and the service was horrible and hardly any people in the restaurant. Food was average at best. Not much else to say was very disappointed

I went there as a diner. I saw some children with their families. We were there at a family dining time around 6:00/6:30 pm.

Description
Our Story Begins in Ireland Located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, St. James's Gate, established in 1996, was built and manufactured in Dublin, Ireland. The authenticity of the imported Irish woodwork and fantastic artifacts make St. James Gate one of the premier Irish Pubs in the world. The Gate has a warm friendly atmosphere that makes you feel instantly at home. Rub shoulders with local residents and tourists from around the world. The bartenders are friendly and prepare the drinks with care and consideration and the staff proves just what a capable & fun group of servers is worth. It's everything an Irish Pub should be.
