The food is excelllent and delicious. It is very authentic and tastes very similar to my mother in law's cooking (who is from Lao). You won't be disappointed. A bit pricey but well worth it for dinner. Try the beef lap (if you like spicy) and the red curry. They are always consistent. Make sure you reserve a table on... More

Can't rave enough about this place. A few negative reviews said it wasn't authentic thai. I would not know if this was authentic or a Canadian-ized version but I can say that it was the best food from a Thai restaurant I have had anywhere. Place looks sketchy from the outside and in a sketchy neighbourhood but once you walk... More

This little, old and decrepit looking house hides spectacular food. Saturday night the place was hopping with a lineup all evening. We started with the salad rolls and took the servers recommendation to add fresh basil - delectable and with plenty of peanut sauce on the side. Each subsequent dish arrived piping hot and each better than the previous. My... More

Quite a few Thai restaurants have sprung up in Edmonton in the past 3-4 years. (A few have been around for 10 years or longer---including Syphay Restaurant (since 2004)). Lately I've noticed that these restaurants add the words "Lao Food/Cuisine" to their advertising. I think this is done to appeal more to prospective customers: everyone knows what Thai food is,... We went to the 104th location on a Friday night without reservations and the place was packed; however, they were able to accommodate us at the Jasper Ave. location. The drive downtown was so worth it! The Panang and Massaman curries were so fragrant and tasty and the Lahp Gai/Sinn tasted very similar to a dish we had years ago... More

I was in Edmonton for 4 nights and ate here 3 out of 4 nights because the food was super super delicious with authentic thai flavors. I have been several Thai restaurants and have Thai friends who own Thai restaurants but this the best Thai I had in North America. The sticky rice is served in an authentic Thai basket... More

Who knew that a wee house tucked in between an office building and a strip-mall could be filled with the most amazing food?! This family run restaurant has an incredible menu. We always select several dishes to share because we NEED to taste the different flavours in each dish! The portions are very generous, and the staff are very accommodating... More

Syphay Restaurant was on my list of Thai restaurants to visit and yesterday my friend suggested that we should go there! We didn't have troubles finding a parking spot so all good. As soon as we got to the restaurant we got directed to a table, nice set up, layout and decorations. We ordered two main dishes and a side... More

From the outside, this place looks pretty questionably. But inside it is cheery, clean, and interesting. Typical Thai menu of curries, noodles, and soups. We preferred the noodle dishes. Server was very pleasant and took time to answer questions.

Went there with 5 adult friends and family members and 1 child. They didn't have chocolate milk for the young fellow, but friendly waitress accomodated him with apple juice. Ordered yellow curry w chicken, pineapple fried rice, green curry w. beef, , pad thai, and a won ton soup. Also a lovely curry chicken appetizer. Everything was very good... especially... More
