Wonderful meal served in an authentic British style pub with beautiful surroundings. You place your order at the bar before or after finding seats which was confusing the first time. The service wasn't fast but it didn't seem to matter as the surroundings were fantastic both inside and out in the lovely garden. We have eaten here beside a roaring... More

Have been visiting this place for lunch or dinner since 1977. This is a typical old English pub with lots of ambience, friendly staff and an outside garden to die for. Menu has a good choice of mostly pub food for lunch and dinner at very reasonable prices. The Olsen's (prop) have done an excellent job of keeping this place... More

We arrived for a late lunch on Sunday, the busiest day of the week when the Farmer's Market is happening. We got there at 1:30 p.m., had a hard time getting a parking spot, then a hard time getting a place to sit yo eat and then an hour wait after ordering our sandwiches. People seem to just be patient... More

First time to this fine establishment. I thought I was back in the UK. Pints. Pies. And well how about another pint? Firstly I suspect that this pub can be really busy due to its popularity. Be heeded in advance. Note that all food and drink orders are placed by the guest at the bar. Chalk boards lists the options.... More

Went to this lovely pub for lunch this week. Had a Island lager pint which was nice and cold! Lunch was beef dip with salad and potato salad..Fresh fried and tasty. A different concept as you order meal from board at bar and get cutlery and drinks pay and server brings out. Not alot of service but delicious food. A... More

We took the Duke Point Ferry to Nanaimo from Vancouver, and arrived at dinner time. Enroute, I called the tourist office in Ladysmith for a restaurant suggestion. We chose. This restaurant, and luckily got directions right from the ferry dock without going to the busy freeway. Be sure to write them down because getting to Cedar Road and Yellow Point... More

Stopped by the Crow and Gate on the way up island. Enjoyed the beef dip & salad and the chicken pot pie & salad. Tough to beat! Lots of choices for beer as well in a very comfortable old-English style setting. You order on arrival and food is delivered ton your table. Try for an outside table.

Getting into an English pub should be a throwback to the days of yore, when cold beer, friendly staff and good food were the reasons to join friends for a drink. Well, you just found it. This place is comfy, casual, the food is great (try the beef dip), and the beverages are cold. This place is old style. You... More

After a morning at the Annual Vintage Fair on Vancouver Island at Genoa Bay our friends took us to their favorite pub - Crow and Gate. It did not disappoint. The outside was the perfect little hideaway and very British! Gardens and flowers with immaculate lawns. We entered into the dark and delightfully decorated traditional pub. We had great weather...
