After reading 1/2 dozen "all-over-the-map" Trip Advisor reviews of the Hooded Merganser, we came close to not going there for dinner. I am so glad we did go. It was fantastic ... a HIGHLIGHT of our 3-day trip to Penticton. It starts with a stunning...More

Foods ok but the view is lively. It tries to be up scale, but it's only the price that is. Go for lunch and decide for yourself. They do have nightly specials test are quite good, and nicely price as well.

This was my second visit and it was just as good as the first. Beautiful water views, lots of great menu choices and well executed meals. Great value for the money!

We ate here on a Sunday evening. We had booked and the place was very busy. The service was very slow and the waitresses didn't seem to be enjoying their work. The food was very tasty and the setting over the water is exceptional. I...More

Named after the rare and reclusive North American duck that shares its name (and flew onto the restaurant patio during name selection) the Hooded Merganser is a culinary and architectural masterpiece that straddles Okanagan Lake to offer panoramic views of the lake and mountains.Inside, the décor is luxurious, the atmosphere is casual and the menu diverse yet surprisingly reasonable: contemporary local cuisine and phenomenal views of the Okanagan Valley.
