If you love authentic south Indian food and don't worry about pretentious servie then this is the place for you. If you want "western" style butter chicken and other western indian food choices with no real flavor, then you won't like it here. One of 2 best places in town.

My wife and I ate at the Spicy Greens located in the Hart last night,... and the food was very good. We both had dosa's and were pleasantly surprised by the wrap. If you are pretentious and more concerned about the trappings of the location than the food, don't eat here. However, if you want very pleasant service coupled with... More

To my shock--given all the talk of grunginess--Spicy Green turned out to be a bright, clean, welcoming place. There were lace curtains in the windows. The tables were covered with clean, clear plastic over a clean yelliw tablecloth. The goldfish aquarium? Clean. The ladies room? Clean. And the butter chicken was delicious. Ditto for the spinach-and-cheese stuffed dosa. An unusual... More

I bet most people would steer clear of this place if driving by. It looks absolutely awful from outside. The decor continues inside. But really, you can make up for it with a nice walk in the park afterwards ;) The food was so authentic and good. Lots of Indian, Sri Lankan and Singaporean choices. We had the butter chicken,... Since the Spicy Greens has opened in the Hart area, we took advantage of the closeness and ordered dinner to be delivered. It says free delivery within 5 miles, but when we asked for a total on our order, it was $5 more than calculated. When questioned, we were told that, yes, the delivery was free but they give $5... Best food, really tasty!! Some much to choose from the order. This is definitely one of the best in town for ethnic cuisine. The food is absolutely fantastic and well worth a few extra minutes. Everything is cooked fresh as you order it. Don't let the outside appearance fool or deter you. If you're looking for something a little different... More

We went for dinner Saturday night at the Spicy Green 5th Avenue location with another couple. Upon entering we were greeted with a friendly smile and hello from the server. The ambiance is nothing too fancy that's for sure but more importantly it was clean and that's what I care about. Water glasses were new, clean and being refilled continuously.... More

I have tried to find what so many others adore about this place but it still puzzles me. The service is slowest in any restaurant I've been to anywhere. The decor is...okay, you can't eat decor but this place is depressing to be in. And the food ? Good although not spectacular Sri Lankan. Some of the items like the... More

After reading reviews here, we sought out Spicy Green for dinner when in Prince George. While the atmosphere is not authentic, the food certainly is. The menu is large and varied, with good explanations for most things. The first time we went, I had the Chana masala which came with rice and 2 different breads. We also shared Samosas and... More
