Had lunch there today, tea, jumbo shrimp tempura, Philadelphia roll and crunchy crunchy roll. Great fresh food and friendly service.

Husband and I had a late dinner here line night and enjoyed it thoroughly. He's a sushi guy; I am everything but sushi. The tempura was perhaps the best I have ever had and the sunonomo was certainly the best ever. Service was fast and cheerful. We will definitely be back for more.

We had unagi tofu, wakame seaweed salad and 3 fish sashimi - all of which were lovely, light and fresh. Would happily go again.

The ambiance was casual Japanese The service was so so. The disco music got a little old after awhile. The staff was friendly and was good until they were busy. The price was good and the food tasted above average. In spite of this we would go again.

They have a deal here that for the take section, the second item you get is 50% off. After 6 pm, all the take out is 50% off (although there isn't much left there by that time). It's quite good, and they have a variety of items both of nigiri and rolls. They put the herring roe on about half... More

I wanted to at least share my experience. I have never had Sushi before so I'm not qualified to rate a place on a level of 4 or above but will still rate my experience. The food was good and tasty. I actually liked the California Roll. Had the lemon chicken and an egg roll with soup and green tea.... More

So since I live in Vancouver I have been trying to add more reviews of my local spots to help out people who come to my fair city. Oysi is one of my favourite off peak spots it gets busy at lunch and dinner times but in the in-between hours its ideal for a good bento box or what ever... More

I regularly return to Oysi Oysi Japanese Restaurant when in downtown Vancouver. On Alberni Street just west of Thurlow Street. 5 mins walk from Vancouver City Centre Skytrain. Reservations accepted Friendly, quick service. I usually choose the Japanese Deluxe Dinner with Miso Soup, salted Edamame, assorted Vegetable Tempura including 2 Shrimp pieces, and Sashimi. Tasty, and good value at $20... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
