We did not have the best experience (BC Truffles) on our first visit because of the timing (4 hour dinner) and lack of information on the courses/selection. Chef Robin provided us a gift certificate as compensation and were were brave enough to try again during the Beast/Meat fest. We were not disappointed. Staff continue to be friendly and professional. Food... More

We jumped on it - and it was a great decision. We were treated to a casual fun evening... More

We've been on the mailing list for almost a year before we saw a secret supper club we thought we could try - the Local Truffle Dinner. We enjoyed 6 courses by Wildebeest/West/Hawksworth Chef Jacob. We really enjoyed each course and the private room (for 5) that is a bedroom in Chef Robin's (the Founder of Swallowtail) house. Events take... More

Robin and her staff were professional, friendly and really made the evening special. The meal included wonderful fresh vegetables in many forms.... poached beets with goat cheese, a salad with apples and parmesan cheese wedges, a spiced... More

Staying in South Main

Neighbourhood Profile
South Main
South Main, or SoMa, is a neighbourhood in upswing. Inhabited by young humanitarian professionals in converted lofts and studio apartments, what was once an industrial centre is now a wellspring of vintage and eco fashion shops, contemporary sawdust-floor galleries, craft beer joints, and basement acting studios. All set to an Art Deco background with a strong blue collar sensibility underpinning each new pop-up and foodie trend, SoMa is on the rise.
