Found a great pizzeria that is slightly tucked away off the main streets but a very short walk down from the Chinatown station. Look for the giant earth sculpture and you are there. Murat, the kitchen manger, bakes an excellent Italian style pizza. We went...More

We used to go to this place as they have hundreds of board game, which is really fun. But they recently changed the name to Ludica and changed their menu, so they don't have white pizze anymore(without tomato sauce) which was the best. The quality...More

I was totally misled by the rating on this place. Other than the fact that they serve pizza, this place shouldn't be considered an Italian restaurant. Bright lights, blaring US top 40 music and a wait staff that couldn't tell us whether the red wines...More

It was a lot of fun, and the pizza was great. The burrata was of poor quality and so was the accompanying bread. However, the pizza itself was really good. I would love to visit again and try their calzones. Stay away from the Burrata...More

A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and
stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of
being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many

the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's
history a more lively presence here than anywhere
else. Having been originally founded around a popular
worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of

The inspiration for Verace Pizzeria stems from a passion for the authentic fire-roasted pizzas found throughout Italy for years and more recently in North America. For a century and a half, the pizza makers of Italy (or "Pizzaioli" as they are known in Italian) have been producing unique mouth-watering pizzas using the freshest ingredients available. The world's first true pizzeria, Antica Pizzeria Port'Alba, opened in Naples in 1830, and continues to operate today. The traditional pizzeria of the 1800’s included a large brick dome oven, a marble counter where the dough was prepared and a shelf lined with ingredients. Pizzaioli often assemble the entire pizza on a marble counter right before the customer's eyes. The contemporary Italian pizza at Verace Pizzeria is prepared in the same way it was over 200 year ago. With a commitment to high quality ingredients and the same age old techniques, the unique flavour of authentic Italian pizzas is unmatched. In Naples the true test of a well made pizza is whether it can be folded in half and then folded again into quarters without breaking or cracking the crust. The pizza at Verace Pizzeria captures the pure essence of simple and delicious Italian food. Verace Pizzeria practices the techniques of the masters by using the key ingredients that make a traditional pizza. Our kitchen uses fruits and vegetables from local farms whenever possible, and imports only the finest Italian ingredients.Taking its cue from an authentic Italian pizzeria, Verace offers a fresh new approach to modern Italian cuisine by combining sleek interiors, a sophisticated but comfortable atmosphere, and a menu offering unique antipasti and gourmet pizzas. Verace is the perfect spot for any dining occasion, it appeals to a variety of guests seeking a casual, hip and upbeat venue with deliciously affordable fare. A long communal table in the lounge area invites diners to enjoy a warm plate, a glass of wine and each other’s company.Vera Pizza Napoletana Association: The VPN Association is a not for profit association that safeguards and promotes the culture of the real Neapolitan pizza worldwide. Verace's owner/operator is VPN trained and certified by VPN, she trained in Naples VPN classroom and worked in one of the oldest pizzeria's in Napoli's historic district.
