A local friends recommended for casual dinner and we were not disappointed. Easy street parking. Very attentive and prompt service. Food presented attractively and tasted great. French cousine. Noise level (music + other patrons) appropriate and allowed for undisturbed conversations. Price: appetizer, main course + 2 drinks, tip = $60/person. We are going to pass the recommendations onto anyone who... More

We were staying in the attached hotel and went for an evening meal. Was tempted by the wild boar and elk rags but ended up going with the waitresses recommendation for the duck breast if I was hungry. She said it would be done medium rare but when it came, it was well done. Tasty nonetheless and the service was... More

The service friendly. The food was good. Presentation was excellent, but the flavors were just good. The fish cake with arugula salad was the exception. It was great!

Vancouver Sun readers vote this place #1 Bistro. Not sure why. Menu has decent selection along with wine choices. Service friendly. My food (chicken dish) was way over salted. Green salad lacked imagination. If you go sit down by the windows as upper section can be noisy (bad acoustics) and tables jammed. It's ok since it's a hotel coffee shop... More

This place is great for a nice meal with friends or family. It can be a bit noisy because of its small size and close proximity to other tables, but the meal was worth it. It eventually settled down, noise-wise.

Attended a business lunch at this quaint restaurant which happened to be on the first day of Dine Out. The restaurant is LOUD. It was tough to hear each other speak as they have many, many seats in a small space. Having said that, who cares since the food is so good!!!! Their entire Dine Out menu could be adapted... More

Came here for dinner with my husband tonight. We were very impressed with the food. We started in the bar for happy hour and shared a cheese plate consisting of French brie, comte, and morbier. The cheeses were excellent. For dinner I had the fried chicken special and my husband had the butternut squash risotto. We also shared the best... More

A nice initimate French restaurant in the Loden Hotel. The steelhead trout and the lamb are outstanding. Definitely worth a visit.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
