What a little gem of a place. It's not 'fine dining', but the food might as well be. Flavorful, varied, huge portions, and absolutely friendly and warm service. Will return if and when we're back in Vancouver...

I was driving North on Oak Street and decided it would be nice to have lunch. Sabra Restaurant was one of 3 restaurants beside each other. Sun Restaurant (Chinese) Best Neighbor (Italian) and Sabra (Jewish). Feeling adventurous I decided upon Sabra. My lunch consisted of the chicken matzo ball soup followed by an deli sandwich and coffee. A very enjoyable... More

One of the few kosher restaurants in Vancouver. The restaurant is listed as open until 8.00pm(!) We arrived at 7.40 and were only able to order sandwiches as the kitchen had already closed. Food was disappointing.

After a long flight and a great tour in Vancouver we found ourselves in Sabra restaurant. Both service and food were excellent. Definitely will come again when in town.

Never thought I'd be eating shwarma and felafel for breakfast, but after the wonderful dinner we couldn't wait to return...tiny place with lots of wonderful salads to go with the homemade pita. Fine baked goods as well. Wish they had been open earlier Sunday so we could have had another meal to take on the airplane!

While the food was good our experience was overshadowed by poor treatment by the owner. We had made what we thought was a reasonable request, asking for salads served on the side rather than all together in a pita, and were told by the server he could not do this. As there was no difference in the amount of food... More

I had a few meals at this place the week I was in Vancouver during the summer. The decor is more pizza parlor than restaurant. But, the food is delicious. Admittedly, by the time I arrived here, after a full day of hiking or kayaking, I was starving. I had fish one night and schwarma another. The fish was crispy... More

Yum! Whenever we travel, we are always excited to go to kosher meat restaurants as we don't have that in Seattle. I was apprehensive about this place at first, as it is small and crowded with stuff, but the food was delicious and the service was great. We went for brunch, 3 of us ordered Schwarma and 2 of us... Just arrived at Sabra an excellent selection of dairy (cholov yisrael) and non-dairy (Pareve) ice cream. Shimon has reconfigured the dining room (larger). Deli, store area more attractive. Dairy, pizza are now for take out only. Beer on tap is back. Don't forget the Laffa, Vancouver's best and all made in house.

Laffa is now being served at Sabra. Think of it as a wrap with a thicker pita like texture. Also Sabra has the city's best Falafel and Swarma. You can eat in or take out. New too is the Kosher Pareve and dairy ice cream in a display freezer. Pizza is available for take out. Large and small sizes and... More
