This is the only place I buy macaroons. They are a decadent treat. Amazing selection, freshly made...yummy!

Located on a rather quiet street in downtown Vancouver, Thierry has excellent pastries and coffee. The cappuccino there was the best we had during our stay in Vancouver. Even though every there is kind of expensive, we enjoyed our breakfast a lot.

Thierry is in a great location, and has a good atmosphere. Delicious pastries, good coffee and polite staff! I only come here on special occasions (rather than every day!) because it is a little on the pricey side- worth it, but better to keep as a treat!

In a city plump full of coffee shops and cafes and dessert spots, these guys stand out on many levels and as such cannot really be compared with anything else in Vancouver. They really have no competition as they stand on their own. Excellent location and not too big, this is a nice cozy place to take an afternoon break... More

After reading lofty reviews about this cafe, we decided to give it a try. Neither the pastries nor the cappuccino were good enough to justify the price. Besides, the place was overly busy and noisy. The service was friendly and efficient and the line-up was going quickly. Overall, the place is overpriced and too noisy.

We had lunch downtown to celebrate my daughter's birthday and decided to stop by Thierry to pick up a birthday cake. We had to wait 5 minutes before anyone came to help us despite us being the only ones in line and 4-5 employees behind the counter chatting. There were only 3 types of cakes to choose from. We chose... More

They have a variety of lovely pastries to enjoy with a latte. And with all those raspberries on their tarts I think they might qualify as health food.

A friend introduced me to this French patisserie in downtown Vancouver this weekend. What an incredible find! The desserts are all works of art, delicately made; and they seem light (though they are probably all of course very fattening). Choices are wonderful, and we had the lemon tart, blueberry tart, and a passion fruit tart; and I brought home a... More

My friends and I came here on a Thursday night after dinner. It was busy. We wanted dessert but there was no more than 5 to choose from. We had the square chocolate dessert. The dark chocolate on it wasn't too sweet. A bit hard to break it with the fork. A nice creamy centre inside. We also shared the... More

Posh cafe with expensive French pastries and coffee. I had the liquid chocolate. My wife had an americano, she didn't find it to be special. Pastries were nice but not out of this world good. I think it's more of an ambience than anything.

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
