We traveled from to Vancouver for the Easter long weekend and Gurkha came highly recommended by our friends. The place was very busy since not many restaurants were open on easter sunday. We waited 15-20 minutes for a table and the server was very efficient and quick on his feet. He recommended the chicken jhol momo which were absolutely delicious,... More

This was an enjoyable experience. Our hostess, who was also our waitress, served us in a timely manner, and explained each of the dishes we asked about. My wife and I shared an appetizer, and I had a bowl of soup to start off. The entrees arrived just as the appetizers were being finished... great timing. The soup, (I had... More

Six of us walked in off the street with no reservations. The food was delicious and the service was great. We all ordered something different so we could do the share around. This was helped with the addition of a few extra side plates. All in we had a great evening.

We had a group of 12. Every single dish was either tasteless or else watered down. Those of us who booked this place were embarrassed for our guests. This was an incredibly unpleasant experience.

We just noticed this place on a walk up Davies St. Lots of vegetarian options with some wonderful flavours. Also the option to have very mild versions. All in all an excellent experience at a reasonable price.

On my first visit we had the momos and they were excellent. It was as good as the one we had in Nepal On my 2nd visit we had the Daal Bhaat, and it's the best way to sample a bit of everything, I highly recommend the dish, it comes vegetarian just like in Nepal or with meat. The service... More

I'm half Nepalese, and while I grew up with mostly Canadian food, this place is fantastic! My favourite dishes are Himali Chicken, and Pokhaha Lamb. But leave room for dessert because the Chai Creme Brulee is the best dessert ever!

Staying in Davie Village

Neighbourhood Profile
Davie Village
Davie Village is the vital LGBTQ heart of Vancouver. It is the only like area in the world to have a permanent four-way rainbow crosswalk, to symbolise the city's solidarity with many of the businesses, ranging from bars to bookstores, that keep the area vibrant. By day, it is a people-watching stop, with fantastic boutique cafes, but at night is when it really shines, humming with neon lights and nightclub music inside many of the hip and trendy bars and dance halls. The area is diverse and welcoming, and its supportive community makes for a tight-knit group of independent and creative shops.
