We had dinner at this lively and casual Japanese restaurant. Good food, young and cordial staff. Nothing exceptional, but for what it aims, it surely delivers. Good stop if visiting Mainland St.

I had dinner at Miku the night before and decided to try another restaurant specializing in Aburi. I found Minami highly recommended online without realizing that it is affiliated with Miku; that is until I opened the menu. I ordered the premium sushi lunch and, although a couple of the Aburi sushi were a bit oily and the rice split... More

I recently invited two guests to dinner on Minami's dine out menu. Though some items were tasty and all dishes were well presented, the overall quality of the food and service were just alright. The market beets citrus salad with goat cheese mousse was a delicious and fresh combination, it's flavours beautifully highlighted by the soy-balsamic reduction and the basil... More

I can't believe the Vancouver Dine Around lunch we had for a mere $30! Pure heaven! We began with an excellent miso broth and some tea. Then came a rectangular tray with 4 delightful little bowls: fine shreds of beet with wild baby arugula, tiny dollops of goat cheese and an excellent basil pesto followed by thin slices of octopus... I heard a lot of good things about this restaurant, until one of my friends mentioned that it was overrated. So I was excited for my first visit to see what my experience would be. My expectations were exceeded! I would like to start by saying that I was happily surprised that even the runners had knowledge about the different... More

Modern Japanese food with a twist. When the food arrives, no need for soya sauce or wasabi – all tastes are already tuned in the food. Beside some rolls, we also ordered a sashimi sampler and an order of grill sirloin beef. Everything was good. Modern deco, beautiful people, chic area – what more could a hip chap like me... More

Great food here but since we live in vancouver it's hard to justify 15 dollars for a minimalist salmon roll that's simply hot! Grilled octopus was out of this world good and a must try! Overall good dining experience, great service and worth a visit

The quality of food here is outstanding. I usually eat regular sushi but decided to splurge at this more high-end sushi restaurant. The portions were smaller but they were prepared with care. Each dish was quality and packed with flavours that made my taste buds sing! We spend over $100 for 2 people (with the tip and no drinks) so... More

Aburi sushi takes sushi to a whole new level. The most difficult thing about eating it is finding a way to stop!

From special occasions to intimate gatherings with family or friends to corporate events, we create a welcoming atmosphere with impeccable service, providing a memorable dining experience.Culinary BrandAppetizer SushiAburi Sushi is a corporate symbol of our company, enjoyed by hundreds of Vancouverites. We are excited to introduce our new Aburi Sushi appetizers, showcasing our unique style of cuisine. The combination of our original shari cooked in our own unique traditional method and flame searing technique has turned sushi into an exciting culinary experience. Enjoy our new innovative Aburi Sushi as the perfect way to start your dining experience alongside your favourite beverage. EntréeOur entrée menu places an emphasis on our beef, poultry, and seafood dishes. Our dedicated chef team prepares our entrees not only focusing on the protein, but also bringing our vegetable side dish to the next level using seasonal ingredient to complement the flavour of the meat. We insist that a great entrée be accompanied by an equally great side. Our chefs focus on flavour and compatibility for your enjoyment. Service Concept: NINGENMILike Miku, our service concept at Minami is “Ningenmi”, “Find joy in yourself by bringing pleasure to guests”This was formed by blending service concepts from two cultures: from Japan, Omotenashi and Wagokoro, (which translates to Japanese Heart), and from North America, one-on-one personal service. Each guest that enters the restaurant is treated as a guest of the entire restaurant; this means, not only will your server look after your experience, but everyone working in that room will contribute to making your dining experience a memorable one. However, while the atmosphere and service at Miku boasts a friendly, bright and lively energy, like that of a busy summer day, guests dining at Minami can expect a more relaxed, warm atmosphere with heartfelt service, like the calm of the beach at sunset.Ningenmi creates an inimitable atmosphere completely unique to Aburi Restaurants. Minami is place where you can enjoy a relaxed evening with our extensive sake selection while being captivated by a delicious meal.

Staying in Yaletown & False Creek North

Neighbourhood Profile
Yaletown & False Creek North
Yaletown has risen from the ashes of its rough-and-tumble industrial past into one of Vancouver's new chicest neighbourhoods. The place responsible for originating of the phrase 'skid row' might not call to mind independently-owned boutiques and terraced cafes, but having swallowed the waterfront lines of False Creek North, the resulting amalgamation transformed the area into an elegant, stylish hotspot with a view. Its youthful vibe owes to the many young families and young professionals who live there, bolstering nightlife and restaurant variety along its cobbled streets. It is the flagship neighbourhood for modern revitalization, and the It-Spot for boutique hotels and modish eats.
