Main street is hands down one of the top neighborhoods to get food, drinks and shop in Vancouver. My girlfriend and I recently visited El Camino's for an early lunch on a Friday evening. Even though it was early and it was relatively empty I enjoyed the vibe and it seemed like it would be a high energy place. There... More

Been twice recently and both times had good food, drinks and service. Lately been loving the shrimp crepe and palomas but if you've never been you must have one of their margaritas and of course their tacos. oh and late night papas chorreades seriously sinful. They play great music and the staff is excellent.

Interior is nice, you will feel that you are welcome, friendly staffs. I ordered moqueca, a brazilian seafood bowl (mussels, cod, prawns) in coconut coriander.. it was ok, not the best, for me it was lacking in some flavors, I can only taste the coconut and i think lime, but it was ok. My friend ordered chorizo taco, i tried... More

Friends invited us out to this restaurant. While not ones to venture out of norm we will be back. Good service and atmosphere. Food was great quality. Tapas style. The soft tacos were amazing! Pulled pork and chicken. Great restaurant for a group of friends to share a selection of great food.

We went to El Camino's on Saturday night with family from out of town. Just a hint, be there before 6:00PM or you'll be waiting in line. The food was really good authentic Mexican. However, the portions were quite small. We all left the restaurant still hungry. This is a great place to go before or after you catch a... More

Lovely, friendly, welcoming service. Delicious, different and varied food. Yum Yum!! It's a little out of town but worth the taxi if you're staying in downtown Vancouver. Tapas style so eat as much )or as little) as you like. Portions are small but cheap so a great opportunity to try loads of different things. Every thing we tried was extremely... More

Met a girlfriend for casual drinks and eats at El Camino's. First time there for both of us. Super friendly and casual atmosphere. Very welcoming and attentive staff and the food was very good.

We had Bocadillos and Mojitos, both of which were excellent. The food was nicely spicey and the Mojito was nicely made. Very enjoyable. A bit noisy but still great.

The food is delicious and appropriately portioned. The shrimp crepe "Crepioca" and the gluten free cheese bread are my favourite starters. You will never know that the "Pao De Queijo" is gluten free. The only downfall to this place is the "small places many faces" curse that many popular places in Vancouver fall victim to. This place is ALWAYS packed... More

Staying in South Main

Neighbourhood Profile
South Main
South Main, or SoMa, is a neighbourhood in upswing. Inhabited by young humanitarian professionals in converted lofts and studio apartments, what was once an industrial centre is now a wellspring of vintage and eco fashion shops, contemporary sawdust-floor galleries, craft beer joints, and basement acting studios. All set to an Art Deco background with a strong blue collar sensibility underpinning each new pop-up and foodie trend, SoMa is on the rise.
