Scotch eggs are amazing. I love the steak dinner, so tender and juicy covered in melting butter, I keep going back every week for it. I just tried the fish and chips for the first time and it is amazing - I wish they had halibut but the batter is so fluffy and crispy-amazing- all seafood is oceanwise. Very good... More

We were a group of 7 for early Saturday evening dinner. The setting is very impressive and the welcome and initial service prompt enough. The food was reasonable, a little unexciting. As we finished eating, we were ignored even though they weren't full - we would have happily ordered another round. A bit pricey too.

I enjoyed the authentic jambalaya that was spicy enough not to need any additional seasoning. When the waitress delivered our meal, I asked for a bottle of the house hot sauce, even though she assured me that it would not be needed. The waitress was right. It was one of the best jambalayas that I have outside of New Orleans.... More

I'd highly recommend It here. We came for dinner and brunch and both were so good. I had the vegetarian burger and it was one of the best veggie burgers I've ever had. Likewise the French toast is brilliant. The service was attentive and friendly without being pushy and the waiter at dinner even recommended a great place to get... More

This restaurant is located on trendy Commercial Drive in East Vancouver. It has a small cosy atmosphere. Outstanding is the whisky inventory. 750 types of whisky are well described in a very complete manual, which could take considerable time to study and are well arraigned in an impressive wall display. We had a whisky sour to start our meal off... More

Visited with my wife this week and had a fantastic meal. Try the fried chicken dinner and write off KFC forever! Loved the menu with all its variety and good prices. Patio was fantastic for people watching and sunset as well. Highly recommended!

Standard pub grub with a southern twist. Fat Tug IPA on tap. Great patio with a city view and 1st class people-watching. Service is usually pretty good too. Far better than their overrated next-door neighbour. Only downside is that every time I go there I walk away feeling like I paid $40 for a burger and beer. ...but still I'll... More

A first time visit to Fets and I was pleasantly surprised by the deliciousness of brunch on the patio. I had the fried chicken, moist and well seasoned. My friend enjoyed the New Orlean's omlette with andouille sausage. I tried it and it was tasty. They use free range chicken, free run local eggs Prices are reasonable. The food is... More

Staying in Commercial Drive

Neighbourhood Profile
Commercial Drive
Commercial Drive, also called "The Drive," comprises of twelve sauntering blocks of modest and unfussy counter-culture. Straddling the line between sophisticated and unadorned, it is favoured by students, artists, writers, designers, and start-ups, and suffused throughout with a healthy off-beat counter-culture. The kind of neighbourhood which well-springs thought-revolutions and has the odd bit of self-aware graffiti, Commercial Drive has resisted gentrification in favor of continuing to build a thriving den of affordable multiculturalism. Once known as Vancouver's "Little Italy," it has also been the immigration point for Guatemalans, Hondurans, and Portuguese to the city. The resulting hodgepodge makes for poetry readings in espresso cafes, social debates in early-open bakeries, and eco-activism posters pinned up in the many multi-ethnic markets in the area. Commercial Drive is where you go to feel like a local, and if you have them, bring the kids – The Drive has a number of bookshops, toy stores, and attractions to get them involved too.
