This is a Vancouver tradition! At least one big breakfast at De Dutch. Service is quick and there are many tables with views of the harbour. Breakfasts are portioned generously and food is delicious. The menu is large and extensive to satisfy all visitors.

The food and service is great here. The only draw back is that its a small location and gets busy so you may have to wait for a table. Other than that its awesome.

Even with 5 locations in Vancouver, it felt like we were eating at a single location restaurant. Good smoked salmon hash and a killer Dutch pancake. Left full and ready to tackle a day of walking.

went twice during our visit... the food is amazing, the quantity is vast and well served... waitresses are charming... there may be a wait time to be seated but it's worth it.... Dutch cocoa is yummy, French toast in any variety is awesome and pankoekken are amazing, sweet or savory.... not cheap but you won't need to have lunch that... More

What a great spot for breakfast. The mountains and water looked Fantastic. The food is good and they have gluten free pancakes which were great quality. Perfect location with beautiful scenery. Service was efficient and quick. Great atmosphere.

I went to this location because I wanted to get some breakfast before I went home to Victoria. I was greeted by a boy who rolled his eyes at the fact I came and interrupted his date with a coworker. He sat me at a table then went back to sitting at another table - he was a real professional.... More

My dining companion was excited to take me to De Dutch at the Convention Centre, even though we spoke about all the other down market locations of this chain in the Lower Mainland. The view of Coal Harbour and a very green Stanley Park against the snow dusted mountains of the North Shore is really spectacular and the decor has... More

I was very much looking forward to a hearty meal before a day of sightseeing. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. Thought the restaurant was full, we were seated rather quickly. That gave us false hope as service took forever. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed and quite scattered. I had a pancake with a side of bratwurst. The pancake was large but... More

The food was tasty, expecially the sandwiches and the panenkoek (a Dutch style pancake) which comes with different sides to choose from. The cost was medium and the portions generous. I would reccomend it for breakfast, lunch and brunch.

One of the top breakfast places to eat in Canada. The staff are incredible, the food is delicious, and the view is spectacular. Unique dishes, all equally delicious and worth a try. Visited daily for breakfast, but they are open for lunch as well. View of the mountains from the restaurant and sea planes taking off and landing added to... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
