As a college student in the '90s, Phnom Penh served wonderful, delicious foods for very affordable prices. 30 years on, this establishment does not disappoint. The noodle portions were very substantial. The chicken wings were superb! as was the drip coffee. The waits were long; and during winter, a cold draft comes in through the doors frequently as patrons are... More

We recently visited the restaurant and had a very good meal. There was a slight wait for a table as they seem to get very busy. The food and service was excellent and we would definitely go back. I had the beef hotpot, really good

You are so tempted to have many good things and unfortunately many of those really good things are deep fried. We came around 1130 and waited for about 30 minutes which is not bad as this place is very, very popular. The chive pancake I will call it is very nice.

Be prepared to wait, but this is great food from various cuisines of south east Asia. The price is very reasonable and it's an authentic Vancouver experience!

I loved the food here, it was excellent. Everything was fresh and the serving sizes were good. The only reason I would not give it the 5 stars was for the lack of service.

A long wait because this place is very popular. Most waiting and eating were local Asians, in twos, fours and families. But once we were seated the service was friendly, expert and pretty quick. We started with spicy Prawns which were great. Then crisp spring rolls and a fabulous soup, very flavorful pho - like broth with noodles and bean... More

Was in Vancouver and finally tried this place for dinner last weekend. Tried their famous butter beef, and luc loc. Food was good, but not exceptional. Not really worth the hassle of waiting 30 minutes to 1 hour. Bathrooms are not clean.

The restaurant is located in china town, on a sketchy block. BUT don't be afraid to come in and try the food. We ordered the chicken wings which were the best we've ever had. Beef lúc lac which is so addictive, we came back the next day to order out as this restaurant is really busy. And butter beef, an... More

You can wait in line for a while, leave your name and head to a nearby bar for a drink to fill time! Really busy and for good reason, the food is fantastic here, serves are big as well so be careful how much you order. Service good, prices more than reasonable and a really big range of dishes.

I was in the area and believe it or not, there were no lines at 4:30 pm yesterday, so I went for a quick dinner. Had the Combo C with lemongrass beef, the crepes, crab ball and salad. Also had a small order of the fried chicken wings. Man, the wings were so good...but what is that slightly sweet/salty twang... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
With the recent exodus of massive new building projects hitting the neighbourhood, Chinatown; which has always been one of the city's most vibrant areas; is even more buzzing and buoyant than ever before. Playing host to some of the city's best pan-Asian cuisine, from fusion food to traditional home-cooking, Chinatown has remained faithful to its roots as a space which clambers with shop signs and welcomes diners to the table. More that that, it has a hip experimental vibe to it, with trendy pop-ups and catchall market shops. The biggest of Canada's Chinatowns, it is also home to an expansive Chinese garden whose manicured grounds inspire and delight, its ponds and pagodas drawing walkers in for an stroll. Take in the red streetlights, the playful awnings, and the upbeat air that suffuse this area.
