Six of us came to dinner last night before going out to a play. My wife and I ordered the steamed mussels in a cream wine sauce with shallots with fries and a winter greens salad. To start the meal, some very crispy warm rolls were served with butter. They were delicious and the highlight of the meal! The main... More

Originally I was looking for simple restaurant for breakfast with my daughter on Main street around 10 am.No luck, Im not a coffee drinker so I do not entertain these places. Before going to Vandusen Gardens the only option I found was this restaurant. We got in without reservation, food came and looked good but paying for 2 pieces of French toast... More

Visited Shaughnessy Restaurant at the Van Dusen Gardens with a group and for the most part we were pleased with the evening. I, personally, had the Cioppino and found that the scallops and prawns were not very well done. The fish was good and the sauce very good, but it should have come with french bread for dipping as spooning... More

My friend and I had the striploin. Both r rather rare then what we ordered. And quite a big piece of fat on both of our orders. The side veg and potatoes was not bad but nothing spectacular. Other two friends had the special Ahi tuna with lobsters, it looks pretty, but the tuna is a really thick cut and... More

This is an adequate place for a business lunch. It was just okay. Nothing lovely or special about it, but did meat the minimum for place to go to discuss business. Wouldn't be my first choice for next time.

I dined here just after New Years. My evening was a gift from a friend and so I didn't say anything; didn't want to appear ungracious for her generosity and make her feel bad, but my meal was shocking. I ordered the Lamb Shank and it was all I could do not to gag. I ate as much as I... More

We chose this restaurant for our office Christmas party for its reputation and location. The plan was to stroll the Van Dusen Gardens enjoying the Festival of Lights and then have dinner at the final seating at 8 pm. Unfortunately we had a fairly major snow storm the night of our dinner in December and had to postpone. The restaurant... More

We always drop by Shaughnessy's for lunch with my mom when we're in Vancouver. She's in a wheelchair, so we appreciate the ease of getting in, seated and out of the restaurant. It can be hard to park when there's an event on, so check the VanDusen website to see what's going on. The restaurant is set beautifully with a... More

We went to the Shaughnessy restaurant in Van Dusen Gardens to celebrate a birthday. Parking was non-existant as people flocked to the gardens to see the Christmas lights. It was surprising that there was no option of valet parking for those who had reservations at the restaurant. It took at least 10 minutes to manoeuvre the block and then to... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Shaughnessy
Residential neighbourhood to the ultra-wealthy, the gorgeous manor houses centred around The Crescent area are a fabled sight to behold. Shaughnessy is Vancouver's most verdant plotted neighbourhood, and its tree-lined streets, walking routes, bike trails, and charming public parks make for an ideal location to spend and afternoon communing with nature. Consequently, it is also the botanical centre of the city, featuring conservatories and an expansive Botanical Garden, taming and sculpting the wild into seasonal viewing areas and enchanting landscapes. Quiet, elegant Shaughnessy excels at providing the Three Gs: Gardens, Golfing, and Galleries.
