I was in Vancouver for a professional conference, and up until Saturday April 1st, I had great experiences in Vancouver. Everyone was so friendly, until I decided to have dinner at the Lions Pub. I had been wandering around trying to find a less expensive seafood restaurant, and after walking for several miles and not finding one, I decided to... More

Staff were really nice & attentive, the food was tasty but fairly average, I thought it was on the pricey side though for what it was. Good selection of draught beer and quite an English pub atmosphere, a little dim and dingy but fitting with the theme. Sports was playing which I suppose is good if that's what you want.

This is a good spot for visitors to Vancouver to have a casual drink and snack close to the convention centre and cruise ship terminals. They have a good selection of local craft beer and get extra points for having branded glasses to match each brew. They also have many familiar multi-national beer brands - but this is an easy... I had a pint of "Trading Post Oatmeal Stout" and it was by far one of the best stouts I have had. Highly recommended. They also offer a good varied of local craft draft beers, as well as imported draft and bottled brew. Unfortunately we did not have time to eat but it all looked good. Next time.

A great selection of craft beer. The menu had a number of British dishes. The steak and Guinness pie was delicious. Service was friendly and prompt. I was well looked after. I will definitely return to sample more of the menu.

Ate here for a staff dinner last week. We were a group of 20-30 people and everything was alright at first. The food was ok but we weren't told the specials or anything. The service was a bit slow and not overly welcoming but satisfactory. Unfortunately, things began to go really badly when the server began to scold some of... More

We stopped here on Saturday afternoon. The service was good. There was not a lot of selection in my drink of choice. The prices were too expensive. We were not told of the specials or happy hour.

Had lunch and was pleased with the service and the food. The servers were attentive and the food was well prepared and quick. I was surprised to read some of the other negative comments but it could be the difference between the afternoon and evening. It can be loud because it is fairly open - so in that sense, it's... The food was good for a pub, but there were issues with the acoustics of the room. ANY loud person made it sound like folks were yelling. The food was decent but pricey for a pub.

We made a reservation for 4 a few days before going to the restaurant. Unfortunately, there was no sign of our reservation when we got to the restaurant. However, we found a table for 4 next to the window so that was good. We would have preferred to sit outside but there were no available tables. This is clearly a... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
