Nice to enter a pub that has live music playing. The fairview is small and so is the staff trying to get served was a hassle the server even left my meal on the counter while she served cold beers to other people very annoying. I don`t see why management can`t help their staff by hiring more servers on busy... More

Love this pub, great staff, a wide range of beers and other drinks plus great bands playing. If one wants a friendly and welcoming pub with good bands this is the place to go to.

If you like live R&B and a big dance floor, this place is for you! The website gives you a program some weeks in advance, so you can schedule for Billy Dixon, Top City, or what have you. Cover charge only $10. Lots of different beers at fairly reasonable prices. On the not-so-positive, the ceiling is rather low, so come... More

Went here for an afternoon performance of the Souled Out Group. Great band playing rythm and blues, disco, Tom Jones and more. The afternoon venues attract the 50's to 70's generations. Staff are friendly and on the ball. The food is pretty good too. This is a dance friendly bar as patrons go there to shake it up.

This pub was close to our hotel so had to try it. The staff was both friendly and efficient The beer was a reasonable price and the food was good. They have several brews on tap including 'Lucky' which is the house brand. Pool tables, big screen TV's and even a dart board are available for use. Some evenings they... More

Was there twice last week. They have live entertainment almost every night. They have great bands most of the time, but generally, music is very loud. Small dance floor, which is often packed, if the band is good. Tables are very close together. Service is good. We had fun. We didn't eat there, but the food I saw at different... More

We went there to see a friend sing jazz on a Friday night. Great venue for live music but the food is just ok, if not mediocre.

As a sole traveller I'm always a bit wary about going into new bars for the first time. I walked in and straight away one of the locals heard my London accent as I spoke to the bartender and him and his little crowd made me feel right at home. I asked the bartender Rich what beer he'd recommend so... More

Arriving late in the afternoon and just looking for a beer and a burger I found this place just up the road from my hotel. I accept that it was early for the evenings entertainment and so there were not many people in there. From my arrival though I realised that maybe I had made a mistake. When the bartender... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Residential neighbourhood to the ultra-wealthy, the gorgeous manor houses centred around The Crescent area are a fabled sight to behold. Shaughnessy is Vancouver's most verdant plotted neighbourhood, and its tree-lined streets, walking routes, bike trails, and charming public parks make for an ideal location to spend and afternoon communing with nature. Consequently, it is also the botanical centre of the city, featuring conservatories and an expansive Botanical Garden, taming and sculpting the wild into seasonal viewing areas and enchanting landscapes. Quiet, elegant Shaughnessy excels at providing the Three Gs: Gardens, Golfing, and Galleries.
