This is one of the worst fine dining experiences I have ever had. Service was deplorable. Many mistakes were made. The menu was very confusing and as a result we ended up getting a wine pairing we did not want or ordered. The result was...More

I love cheese so this place was like a dream. I got the tasting plate so I could choose three of the daily rotating cheeses and condiments! The portions of cheeses are a pretty good size for a snack - I wouldn't come here expecting...More

Hard to find restaurant in skid row location. Limited menu in which half of our party did not order due to not finding anything appealing. Would not recommend.

I was surprised for a Friday night it was not busy. We ordered two daily plates so we let them make up our cured meat and cheese selections. Instead of 2x carafe we should have done a bottle but we were not thinking initially to...More

Salt used to be the only spot in Blood Alley. Going there used to involve stepping over a bunch of dodgy addicts and tiptoeing around used needles and garbage. I fondly recall sitting by the window with some friends after a comedy show and having...More

I admire the effort of building a restaurant in blood alley. It is not as sketchy as you think. simple room. Simple concept. I like it. Chose your charcuterie, chose your cheese and your wine. Sit back and enjoy.

A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and
stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of
being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many
plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell
the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's
history a more lively presence here than anywhere
else. Having been originally founded around a popular
worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of

I am not sure what wineries have tasting rooms in Vancouver, if any. Many restaurants in Vancouver do carry BC wines though and they offer many by the glass so you can try them before committing.
