Everything on the menu at A La Mode is terrific but my favorite was the beef shepherd's pie! My husband like the french onion. Terrific place for lunch!

Though the shortage of seating space is an issue I really love the food here. It's the ideal lunch - good wholesome, handmade pies. Delicious.

We had the salmon chowder. It was so amazing. Too bad they didn't fill it to the brim but it was so delicious with big chunks of salmon. Just right for a chilly day. We brought ours outside and ate it while people watching.

This is a small eatery inside the market building, facing the Aqua Bus , Granville Island. Pleasant ladies behind the counter. If it were possible to take some pies back to the states I would have done it! Absolutely the best pot pie we ever had.

They offer a variety of pot pies freshly baked which are satisfying and irresistible! I had chicken pot pie and my husband had clam chowder pot pie. They place a flaky crust on top with delicious filling underneath! It was so yummy! They also have a nice variety of deserts!

Awesome!! I've been to the pier in Boston, and that's the best I've ever had in terms of straight up chowder. BUT...A la mode's is better because of the pastry on top. It's a must have in Vancouver. Go. Just. Go.

I love going to A La Mode for French Onion soup every time I go to Granville Island. The pastry is light and flavourful and the soup is perfect. I go to A La Mode multiple times on each trip to Vancouver.

Amazing little gem of a place inside Granville Island Market. The clam chowder bowl is a must, and quite possibly one of the best clam chowders I've ever had.

There are tons of choices of eat in/take out pot pies here. There are pies that have been prepared in mugs and bowl, but they also have lots of choices in pies that remain uncooked for you to bake at home as well. Delicious and warm, just what we needed on a cold winter day.
