While visiting Victoria, met up with an old friend at the Bard & Banker at her recommendation. We both had the grilled cheese and it was fantastic, my husband had the steak and he seemed to really enjoy it as well. Looking forward to a return trip to try other items on the menu.

I recommend this place - it is a bit expensive but the food was so tasty. I had some chicken soup that was seasoned extremely well. My husband had the grilled cheese and said it was great (not just any old grilled cheese!) I had a local IPA that was very good. atmosphere is very pleasant.

My first experience with Bard & Banker was in the evening with live music, lots of beer and good fun in a cool pub environment. I was therefore somewhat sceptical when my wife suggested a dinner there. There was no need for my scepticism. The service was excellent, the mussels was tasty and the rotisserie chicken with rosemary garlic was... More

All I should have to write here is - Potato Chip Crusted Halibut - yep, that should do it. Because one week later and I am still thinking about how good they were. (and with 163 characters in, I could just leave that here) But.... this place was fantastic. Let's start with the service - You can't beat the service... More

A Scottish pub in a former bank with lovely wood surroundings giving a very warm and welcome feeling. We were in for lunch. Had the Saltspring mussels appetizer in a tasty white wine sauce served with baguette and french fries. Main course was a very adult grilled cheese including Brie and goat cheese drizzled with maple syrup. I wasn't sure about... More

Styled like a pub, Bard & Banker has an upper level, pretty, old chandeliers. We enjoyed ourselves very much with a menu of 1/2 Chicken, yellow squash, zuchinni and mashed potatoes... a lot of food for 1/2 chicken dinner. This is a FUN kind of place, great for parties, etc.

We went to this restaurant after a recommendation from our hotel. Best halibut fish and chips ever! They use a potato chip crust that gives it a crunch. It was not greasy and so good we had it twice in 3 days! The white chocolate creme brulee was awesome too!

Interior is awesome if you enjoy classic Victorian (and why are you visiting Victoria if not) drink menu is hugely expansive and very extensive beer & scotch selections with many premium hi-balls as well. Pricing is fair and there is a very active live music program well worth checking out. Quite enjoyed the diverse clientèle with patrons of all ages... More

Took an afternoon stroll in the historic heart of Victoria and passed by just as I was getting hungry. Took a quick look at the menu and a peek inside and was easily persuaded to grab a warm meal. The decor - an old-fashioned look that doesn't intimidate despite being somewhat upscale. The menu - upscale pub grub with choices... More

What a great down to earth and spectacular setting, great bar service, I tried the half chicken and was extremely happy with not only the food but the presentation.
