We tried to get in the pub but it was very full and quite loud so we chose to eat in the restaurant. I had the $20.00 Three Course Dinner Menu. It was excellent. The halibut was very good and the chocolate lava cake was great. Would definitely eat here again.

When I lived in this neighbourhood, I ate at both the pub and restaurant countless times. On a recent visit back to Victoria, my husband and I stayed at the JBI and both mornings of our stay, at breakfast at the restaurant. Large portions, tasty food, and reasonable prices. Sunday morning was very busy. It's a local favourite. Highly recommend.

We were in Victoria for a few days and enjoyed our 1st breakfast at this restaurant so much, we had a 2nd breakfast here the next day! The first day we each ordered veggie omelets. They were wonderful! Made with 3 free ranged eggs and served with homemade home fries and toast. The serving was so generous, we thought we... More

The pub and restaurant are located in the James Bay Inn. Has the feeling of being your local watering hole and eatery. I visited both the restaurant and pub while staying at the hotel. Food and drinks are great and the serving staff were wonderful. If you are in the neighborhood its worth a try.

We ordered the appy of stuffed mushroom caps for $14.00 and were very disappointed. The Mushrooms were just slices or halves of small mushrooms rather than full caps however the shrimp sauce was good. NOT worth $14.00 for sure. I ordered the prawns stirfry and there were 6 nice sized prawns but the rice I believe was instant rice, and... More

Ate here for lunch and very convenient because we were staying in the Inn part. All you do is go down the stairs and your in. I had the chicken fajita and it is big enough for two people.

Food is good, reasonably priced, and generous. It's not fancy, but it's not a diner either. The place has been there for years, with good reason. Many of the clientele are older, but that only means they know a good deal when they find it. Check it out - you will leave full of good food.

mediocre food, weak coffee, nice staff. I would suggest walking around the neighborhood and trying out other places. The smoked salmon was good, though.

The kitchen staff were stated to be trainee-chefs. They have a special menu for dinner, consisting of three "courses" at a special price (it was $20 CAD if I remember correctly). There was a choice of 3 entrees, 3 appetizers, and 3 desserts (one of each). I had a small steak, a "nachos"-type appetizer, and I cannot remember which dessert... More

I stayed at the James Bay Inn, so this was a very easy and convenient place to eat. Even better that the food was quite good! Breakfasts were very good. Their home fried potatoes were out of this world. It was a nice place to eat dinner if I didn't feel like leaving the hotel. Nice dinner specials.

Thank Kathleen C
