First off, the staff are ALWAYS nice, and the ambiance wonderful. Sunlight!!! What Prairie Ink doesn't have is a big menu. But everything on it is primo. Fancy, no. Fresh and wonderful, yes. I mean I LOVE going there. Lately, I am addicted to their French Onion Soup. End of. Love it. not make it at home. Cheesey. a little... More

Love the vibe of this restaurant and I am continually amazed at how busy it always is! The menu has an excellent variety - something for everyone. I enjoyed a vegetarian pizza - delicious and my girlfriend enjoyed the tortiere pie. A great stop for a visit and lunch before taking in a movie.

The salad with chicken breast looked delicious. Our waitress indicated that it contained feta and when it arrived it was blue cheese. Fine if you are a blue cheese lover, but not all people are. Chicken breast was very tasty. The pecans that were caramelized had quite large pieces that the waitress thought was a broken beer bottle in the... More

I am very sorry that your experience at our restaurant was disappointing. The supervisor that you spoke to should have made sure you were happy when leaving. The chef has spoken to his staff about making sure their are no pieces of just the caramelized sugar as it is only to be the nuts. I agree with you about the... More

My son and I were in the mall, and decided to come here for lunch. We were surprised at how full it was. We had the lunch special -BLTs which were good. I had a broccoli corn soup with mine which was very good. My son had a house salad which he loved. Service was good. People around us were... More

Admittedly, although I am what I would consider a frequent diner at Prairie Ink for dinner, I have never been for lunch; and in light of this visit, will think twice before going again. Or perhaps it's a different cook during the day. And I say cook, because certainly not a chef at the helm on this visit. Both my... More

Although prices have been creeping up, Prairie ink is still a good restaurant for a quality meal. Some interesting choices on the menu not found in other restaurants. The bison burger is always good. African peanut soup is filling and reasonable at$6. Pear salad with blue cheese is delicious. The sacher torte we shared for dessert was very rich with... More

Went for the first time today with friends for lunch. Service was very good given that the place was full. A bit pricey, but still enjoyed the Reuben sandwich and a smoothie.

Great place to go as you can meander around the bookstore before and after. Nice and bright and service was good. Lunch (beet salad with goat cheese and candied walnuts) was pretty good. Came with a small piece of bread which I always appreciate. My friend comes often and loved her African peanut soup. The menu is broad and sounds... More

Had a light dinner here recently that I really enjoyed. First of all, a very nice location at a corner of the McNally Robinson Bookstore in the Grant Park Shopping Center. I had the peanut soup, which was excellent. My dinner partner had a salad. Our desserts were quite good, though I did find the apple crisp a tad on... More

Went to Prairie Ink with a dear friend after a movie at Grant Park Plaza on October 28, 2016 for the first time! WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! The server suggested the salad special, chicken, feta, almonds, and cucumber. How could they mess this up? When the salad arrived the chicken had a strange odour to it. When my friend and I... More
