Service was impeccable and food was great with no complaints - but for a price. Family of 4 for dinner with shared app & shared desserts was over $650.... Worth a one-time experience.

we went for our annual family valentine’s celebration. The servers were absolutely fantastic, We felt really taken care of. Server took time and told us about their specials that night. For starters we requested for foie gras (It was off the menu) and it was...lovely!! seasoned and cooked until done but not hard. Husband got onion rings which are ginormous in size! Delicious, Good for sharing. My kid (6) ordered the Salmon and finished it in minutes. Seasoned and cooked perfectly. Husband and shared the 22oz peppered rib steak with cognac sauce. Tender but a little bland for my liking..maybe to appreciate the beef? (nothing salt and pepper can fix) For dessert we had the molten lava cake with a scoop of ice cream, Which is just average we didn’t finish it. 💲💸 but worth it Overall we enjoyed dining will go back in Spring to try burgers and enjoy it in the patio. 😌More
We recently dined here to celebrate my husband's birthday. Our server was Chris who was informative and friendly and paid special attention to my husband's gluten allergy. We all ordered steak with 3 sides and had a caesar salad as an appetizer. All the food...was superb. The desserts were out of this world. Very fresh and wonderful. The restaurant was very busy on a Saturday night but the tables are spread a good distance away so you don't overhear other conversations. Parking is easy but the ramp for wheelchairs or walkers was very slippery for my mom. We'll be back.More
We ate here to celebrate two birthdays. The food was very good with excellent flavours. The drinks were tasty with a bit of a kick. The best sauce I’ve ever had with sweet potato fries. My beef Wellington was excellent and cooked just the way...I asked for it. Our waitress was excellent. The crème brûlée was fabulous. The perfect place for a special occasion.More
Beautiful Restaurant. I was taken for my 60 birthday. Very special occasion. The service and food was amazing. I did not know what to expect but most people were dressed casually. The decor was incredible. I love history so this was a special place in...my heart.More
4 for a monday lunch on the patio. Beautiful setting and not very busy. Service was very good and so were our meals. Drinks are very expensive for their size. Overall, an enjoyable yearly occasion.
We decided to try 529 for dinner to celebrate a wedding anniversary. The staff was attentive and the waiter knowledgeable and helpful. As the menu is "a la carte" we were advised that if we wanted sides, like veggies, we would have to order them...also but that they were in large quatities for sharing. We settled on fries. The food was delivered with, as noted, a bare steak on a plate and a large basket of fries in the middle of the table. I decided to spear several to put them next to my steak and was amazed to find that I couldn't get my fork through them. On examination, we found that the fries were all quite hard. Warm and tasty but very crispy. After we were finished the main course, I asked the waiter why they were cooked that way and explained that I preferred them softer and didn't like them this way. Even though I complimented the steak, suddenly things got very chilly at our table. The dessert menu was quickly displayed with us being encouraged to skip it, the wallet with the bill was thrown on the table as the waiter went past, we were not offered coffee or after-dinner drinks. This, I presume, was a result of my criticising those fries. Too bad. I know that my piddling $200 doesn't mean anything to them but I won't be back.More
We were there on a Monday evening and the parking lot was full! The house itself is an experience. It feels like you just dropped into Downton Abbey. There is an outdoor patio on the riverfront where we ate. Food and service were excellent.
There is no disputing the beauty and elegance of 529 Wellington. Everyone was charming and the service was beyond impeccable, the evening was off to a great start. I had ordered a filet and was so looking forward to the taste of wonderful beef. The...meat was "melt in your mouth" tender but had absolutely zero flavour. I thought that perhaps my old taste buds were letting me down, but I could taste everything else. Others seemed happy with their meals but I noticed the salt and pepper were getting a good workout. It was said to me that a filet has less flavour as it has less fat and I understand that, but after my first bite of a filet at The Keg a few weeks ago I said "OMG this is so delicious", best steak ever. I'm very happy to have gotten to "experience" 529 Wellington, but future steak dinners will be at The Keg.More
Excellent food, huge wine selection (hundreds of wine names from the entire world), awesome atmosphere, very stylish, elegant and knowledgeable waitress (thank you so much, Jen - you were amazing!!), a splendid combination between classic and modern style furniture and appliances - everything describes a...splendid evening spent with my husband at this unique restaurant which I recommend to be as a MUST for anyone who is visiting Winnipeg, MB and is looking for a memorable evening.More
the restaurant is very elegant but way over rated and over priced and if you want surf and turf go somewhere less expensive
From the moment we were seated in the little room upstairs to the time we left, we were thrilled with it all. The attention from staff was thorough, friendly and they even helped us plan some other adventures while in town. Yet not too over...the top. We truly enjoyed our interaction with each staff member we met. The food was amazing. We started with the tower of Onion Rings. My word of caution is, “it’s huge”. Way too much for just 2 people. But yummy none the less. My wife had the tuna and I had a steak. Both were cooked to perfection, tender and again, simply fabulous. Best steak I’ve had in a very long time. Pair those with a side of Lobster Mac & Cheese. Oh my. Finished off with a lemon tart and some ice cream. Everything was great. Servings were plentiful too. Next time we’re back in town, we will eat there again. For sure.More
We had our best meal there while in Winnipeg. The place is lovely, service was good, decent wine list. The steaks were good, but not oustanding.
The best dry ribs I have ever tasted also the Beef Wellington is just out of this world, add a couple of my favorite sides tower of rings, the snap peas and king prawns. best dinning experience in Winnipeg, also wine and cocktails are reasonable...priced.More
We came as a party of 5 for a 60th birthday celebration. Drinks, appetizers and the main courses all arrived to the table seamlessly prompt. My tenderloin steak was cooked perfectly and all the sides were good portions to share. Russell was our server for...the evening and from start to finish we received such welcoming first-class service. Dinner was very, very delicious and the experience was wonderful. Thank you for the incredible evening, we will definitely be returning to dine-in again.More
