Steve O'Doole posting in about one of me favorite spots outside Port aux Basque. Got some good food with fish that's white at a price that's right. Know Chester from high school days and buddy was he ever a good fisherman , pulling out big old fish and sellin them off when we hit shore. Long days sipping blue star... More

I always thought of Ches's and other fish and chip establishments in town as a place to go after a night out and have a "feed of fee and chee". You know the place, where there is more batter than fish. It always tasted good at the time but I always felt lousy afterwards and could feel that layer of... More

I go straight to this location EVERY time I visit home. DO NOT pass go, go directly to Ches's. Every time i visit they seem to have added some new items to the menu. I always get a 2 piece fi&chi with dressing, gravy and fried onions. Some good!

When you have been around for 55 years you must be doing something right in the Restaurant business.  We tried the Seafood Platter and an order of 2 pieces of fish and chips knowing we would be taking some of it away with us and such was the case.  Delicious dishes, excellent timely service and reasonable price.  Had the fish... What a better way than to celebrate your birthday than with delicious fish and chips with friends and family. The fish was done perfectly, the chips superb and with a hot cup of tea, couldn't have been better, the staff came around and sang Happy Birthday. I didn't find out till later that my meal was free on my Birthday...Thanks... More

Had to try the original Newfoundland Fish & Chips. It was pretty good. Needed a touch of salt, but otherwise good eats. They didn't have any malted vinegar out for take away though.

Look no further, this hit the spot. I kept it simple and ordered their specialty and I wasn't disappointed. Fish was flavorful and breaded just right. They piled on the French fries. Not complaining but I just couldn't finish everything because the serving was so plentiful. I went for a late lunch, after 1pm, and was seated immediately. Food was... More
