Good food, nothing too fancy, value for money, many beers / ales on tap, tried a few! Staff welcoming and cosy atmosphere even though it is fairly new!

I have always enjoyed my visits to the Townhouse. The food is a bit more artistic than you initially expect. It is a great place to go for a light meal and drinks! The staff are friendly, but it can get very busy!

I've never been to Ireland and this is what I imagine the quaint little pubs in the countryside there would look like. This is THE best place in town to relax over food and a pint with friends. A very mellow place. Always busy. Food is different from the standard menus in this town but very good. Great liquor options.... More

A typical pub with the taps flowing - gets busy with the University crowd and the typical times of day - in the summer the front has a patio. Good sodas and casual dining.

Great atmosphere, lively on a Friday night! Outstanding lobster chowder! Cooperatively owned my individuals in the community--a terrific concept! Everything was delicious, and the wait staff was superb.

Stopped in late evening and was quite disappointed at first to be informed that they only had a late night snack menu after 10 pm. It turned out to be awesome. We had a bottle of wine and a great mix from their snack/tapas menu and very happy with all of them. The atmosphere is warm and casual. Definitely on... More

We were in Antigonish for one night and ate at the Townhouse. We ordered burgers and green salads. When my plate arrived, it had more protein on it than I ordered. Crawling on my salad dressing cup was a caterpillar and also caterpillar poop on the green leaves. Well I like nature but that was too much. When I pointed... More

We have visited several times and always make a point of having a meal at The Townhouse. The atmosphere is lively, the staff are engaging and fun. The food is delicious. And they make excellent beer right on the premises. I had the porter this time and it was the perfect pairing with my bangers and mash!

The Townhouse is a cozy, neighbourhood pub, focused on great Nova Scotian craft beer, and fresh, local food. We have 9 taps of NS microbrews, including our own Terry's Best Bitter, brewed upstairs, cask-conditioned, and served on a traditional hand pump. Our guest tap changes regularly, featuring one-offs & seasonal brews from breweries across the province. Our eclectic menu starts with the best local, seasonal products from the area - from seafood to root veggies - and offers them up in traditional and un-traditional ways! Our young chef, Jacob Buckley, and our kitchen staff take great pride in making all of our food - breads, desserts, pates, pickles, spice mixes, dressings, and chutneys - from scratch, in house. You'll find old world pub favourites like the Ploughman's Lunch or Fisherman's Pie, rustic taverna fare (Portugese Salt Cod Fritters, Tapas boards, oysters on the half shell), and globally inspired casual foods (Mexican Pizza, Baharat Lamb Burger, and our daily curry special). We are fast becoming famous for our ultra-rich Lobster Chowder and Polish Cheesecake. Although inspired by the neighbourhood pubs of the UK and Ireland, the Antigonish community and our wonderful regulars give the pub it's real colour and relaxed, friendly atmosphere.Weekly events include live jazz, a Sunday Roast and an excellent Irish traditional music session.
