My wife and I just finished celebrating our 14th anniversary at Gio. Jessica offered us a complementary glass of champagne upon learning that we were celebrating. We ordered the seafood tower (the Stanley Cup of seafood dinners). Dinner was delicious. Chef Barry Mooney's dinner was...More

Once again, Gio knocked it out of the ball park. We had our racing offshore sailboat crew dinner here the other night. The service was perfect, our waitress was attentive and charming. We never needed to ask for water or more wine. The food was...More

I had the seafood chowder and scallop dinner. Seafood chowder was one of the tastiest I've had in Halifax. Scallops were absolutely perfect. My wife had the green salad and loved it. Then, the beef for dinner, which she said was delicious. I had a...More

My experience at geo was great. I went for lunch and the prices were very reasonable. I order the seafood chowder and it was very creamy and tasteful. They layered the different seafood. For my main course, I got the capellaini. It was delicious and...More

Gio was pleasant enough, but not as good as I expected. The peppery panko crust on my appetizer scallops was not a plus. The bits of charred cauliflower in the veg accompanying my main course were unpleasant. The music on the PA was sometimes obnoxious....More

We just left from dinner there based on excellent Trip Advisor reviews. The service was terrible. The lobster we ordered had sand in it. The best the restaurant would do is say they are sorry. Nothing was ever done to correct the mistake in the...More

My wife and I enjoyed dinner at Ohio's during our recent stay in Halifax, and it was excellent--definitely one of the best meals we had in Halifax. They had a new special called a seafood tower, and it looked intimidating on the menu, but since...More

The seafood tower is brand new, and looks like it may become a big star on our menu, WTexTraveler. The presentation is definitely something to behold, but I am glad to know how much you liked every bite, and that your wife also enjoyed her...More

What a treat! All six of us were pleased with our entrees whether we ordered multiple apps or an app and a main. Our party had beef, bison, salmon, and swordfish -- all were perfectly prepared and nicely plated. The salads and soups and apps...More

Was staying in the hotel on our trip to Halifax, so had to try the restaurant. Amazing! Service, atmosphere, and the food... Omg. One of my top 5 for sure, and I'm a seasoned F&B manager! Pictures are of the octopus appetizer, Bison tenderloin, and...More

Thank you, Cale W! It is always great to impress other Food & Beverage staff, because they (as I'm sure you know), can be very, very particular when dining somewhere other than where they work. The bison is definitely my favorite addition on our latest...More
