Family owned and all Thai. So if you wonder who's cooking... don't worry they know exactly what to do. The age of the home adds to the mystique and sense of removal from barrie, North America... you feel like you've walked into Thailand sans the excessively long flight. There are even books around the restaurant about Thailand from history to... More

Love this locally owned restaurant, slightly rundown but currently undergoing renovation I believe. The food is delicious - not oily like a lot of places in Barrie. Some dishes are regionally authentic which may not be what everyone is used to (Pad Thai has thinner noodles and no egg wrap), but the taste is fantastic. Have not eaten in but... More

The food is average but the service is terrible. We have gone 2 or 4 times and have yet to have good service. We will likely not go back.

We ventured to Chaopaya based in the reviews. We arrived around 5:30pm, the place was empty. It was sweltering hot outside and the restaurant does not have AC.....so you can sweat inside or out! We had an order of Thai spring rolls (just ok....they looked like they were out of a box), peanut chicken & red veggie curry. The peanut... More

Food, service and view excellent. Three of us had Chicken Pad Thai. My first experience with Thai food and liked it a lot.

Dinner last night with great friends and it was wonderful! Beautiful night to sit on the deck and watch the boats on the bay. Service great.. very eager to see that everything was to our liking. Appetizer platter awesome. Egg rolls perfect. Fresh spring rolls, shrimp toast and chicken skewers with peanut sauce.. Two of us ordered curry of different... More

My husband and I went to this restaurant for lunch and had a surprisingly wonderful and delicious experience in this lovely house overlooking the water. Try the Tamarind Fish if you like ginger--best ever!! The owner has spent a considerable amount of energy decorating the restaurant with unique Thai pieces--very interesting. We sat on the deck on a very hot... More

I've tried everything on the menu....you cannot go wrong. I like it spicy and they do cook to order, but be smart, ask the owner operator bout their spice levels...they know best. All food is appetizing and delicious...authentic. Best in Barrie, Simcoe county, maybe even Ontario...and I should know, I've tried more Thai estuary to then I can remember. The... More
