We went to the Bull and Barrel with family members to celebrate a birthday. The food was very good, especially the liver dinner. The server was very pleasant and accommodating. A great time.

The Bull and Barrel is a great Pub tucked behind a commercial strip , just off highway 400. Food is consistently well prepared and reasonably priced ( Typical pub prices) and also has good selection of beers on tap. Plenty of regulars consistently visit. Put...More

A friend and I visited this little pub and both of us had great meals. The fully loaded jacket potatoes were amazing. Also the corn beef sandwich was really good. I will certainly return.

Went for a surprise birthday party, the host and server were very pleasant and helpful. Drinks arrived quickly and there was just about the right amount of attention. Food came later and I was told that the chicken parmesan would take extra time since they...More

Well CdnWineLover, I am so pleased you love our atmosphere and service, but distressed that the food came up short. Although tasty, clearly it didn't please your eye. I can assure you that the Parmesan Crusted Chicken is made from scratch here in at the...More

As you observed, we are a pub and not a sport's bar. We are very proud to live up to the fact that we are "what a real pub should be". Having said that, we also recognize that our guests would like to keep up...More

They have Tennants and decent Scotch options. Depends on who is in the kitchen and serving, it can be really bad or really good. Steak and mushroom pie can be loaded with meat or have no meat at all. Wings are tiny, fries are frozen...More

It appears you are familiar with both the pub trade and my family, however, you are clearly not familiar with the inner workings of this pub. "Dave" is not the owner, I am. Our veg are never frozen, we cut and cook them on site....More

Wow.. where to begin. You are right. The layout of the pub is not ideal, but our focus is food, drink and conversation and as such do what we can to accommodate these acts that we have been supporting for many years. As someone in...More

Cozy "local" serving a wide variety of imported and domestic beers for over 20 years. With our Axminster carpet, dark wood, fireplace and brass fittings, it's easy to see why this place reminds many ex-pat regulars of the pub they left back home. Our menu is a cross-section of Canadian and traditional pub fare, featuring fish and chips, house made pub pies and arguably the best liver and onions in town. We've been a supporter of local and live entertainment for the last 11 years which is on tap most Saturday nights. We are close to Hwy 400 making us the perfect stop-off on your way up to ski & cottage country or on your way home to the city. Our patrons voted us Best Pub in Barrie two years running. Come and judge for yourself.
