Very authentic british pub. Always alot of British people eating here or playing darts/pool. I really like their fish and chips, and I really like their patio in the summertime.

Nice place...Location is good. The waitress was great. Ordered 2 draft beers. One was cold the other was not so much. Mentioned it to the waitress who went inside.to talk to her manager. When she returned she said sorry the manager our lines are fine we can bring you another pint but will have to charge you for the last... More

On Sept 2, 2016 I dined at the "The Poacher" They had white fish from Alaska on special but nobody knew what fish - so I ordered the burger and fries. Glad I did - great burger and fries. Good service and nice atmosphere. However if you are going to offer a fish dinner you should know what fish you... More

The poacher has the feel of a neighbourhood pub, because it is. You can often see the same people there. The pub is good solid pub food -- including a good "English curry" and fish and chips, and steak and mushroom pie. Their burgers are no-nonsense good burgers and they know how to cook fries well. They have a great... More

This is a great place for drinks, sometimes they have bugle band interchanging players. When we went it was very entertaining. Those people can really play those bugles plus.

We used to frequent the Poacher on a regular basis and enjoyed good food and fairly good service. Service started to slip as new servers were hired--but could not understand how the bar manager/owner gave some of the poorer servers a pass?? Then the food became hit and miss. Dinner one evening was a ceasar salad with chicken, or at... More

Stopped by for an evening meal and sat on the patio area. Good helpful and efficient service. Had their home made shepherds pie which was delicious. Not a huge menu but this is good as they are good at what they do looking at other meals being served. Will definitely return next time I am back in Burlington.

This is now our local pub and we must say the curry sauce for dipping fries is like no other. The California Wrap is also fantastic and the also some of the best wings we have tasted. The staff are extremely friendly and so is the crowd.

We have been to Canada many many times over the last twenty years but never have we had the experience we have had this evening. This is a nice bar but unless the bar man is the manager he needs to be sacked. We had a lovely first round and played darts. When we went to order the second round... More
