I come here at least once during exams because of 1) its location/proximity to the campus and 2) delicious ice cream treats! Because of academics being a bit stressful for me during the exam season, I always take a 20 minute walk with my friends after studying on campus to this quaint little shoppe by the river for a bite... A charming, quirky little tea house & cafe with lots of yummy treats and a pretty view of the river. We stopped in on a whim and really enjoyed our visit. My mom and I shared the "tea tray for two" and it was fun.... the scones were especially good.

I was always very happy and satisfied with the food and the service at the Boathouse. This changed dramatically last Wednesday. I was there for lunch with my sister. I asked for the turkey BLT which came, it looked beautiful and tasted great. Then came the shock: I couldn't bite through something in the sandwich and when I checked, I... More

The atmosphere was cute and the selection of pastries was very good. We tried a scone, an apple tart and a chocolate caramel tart. They were all very good. Prices were reasonable. We shared a large pot of tea but I don't think they put enough tea leaves in it and it was very weak . The waitress came to... More

I enjoyed the atmosphere and food but the service was really slow. I was scared that my toddler was going to ruin something as she explored cute displays. I had planned to eat outside with her and watch the river and the swans but there was a bowl of sugar at each table that had wasps angrily searching for any... More

My daughter is a student in Guelph. She invited her grandparents to have tea at the Boathouse. So, this past Saturday we drove to guelph and had high tea. What a great spot. The chairs are all different the table clothes are all different the tea cups and tea pots are all different. And, the High Tea was excellent. I... More

If you love ice cream, this is a great place to treat yourself plus a few of the river. It is on the upper end of costs but very quaint and scenic Nice area to have a walk while you enjoy a variety of great ice cream which you can taste test first.

We went for a special girls' lunch out, our first time at the Boathouse... and we were not disappointed. It is a small parking lot but there is overflow parking just a short drive around the bend, so no problem. It is also a small tearoom, and appears busy - we went at 1:30 on a Saturday for lunch, and... More

This is such a cool place; they sell ice cream cones at one end and rent canoes and kayaks. That's why we usually go there. Lots of trees for shade on a hot day. It's only open till Oct. 31. We did have breakfast at the Tea House and it's a really cute, quaint place with decent food. This is... More
