Recently went back to Japanese Village for a business lunch and took 18 staff for a special luncheon. While the food was very good, we were so disappointed that the chefs preparing the food at both our tables had absolutely no interaction with us. No show with the knife skills, no talking or eye contact. It was so disappointing. I... More

Looking forward to this for months. Only turn 50 and travel across the country to spend it with your oldest friend once.....Wish we'd chosen anywhere else. Not busy on the Thursday night before the long weekend, at least not when we were there, yet service was short and barely sweet. Staff didn't seem interested in being there, nothing special about... Fun ambiance, excellent food and the chef had great skills. You need to try this at least once and the more you are, the more you'll have fun.

The Japanese Village restaurant has been an endearing Ottawa restaurant for many years. The food is delicious and quite filling with the courses of salad, grilled veggies, sprouts, rice and choices of filet minion, shrimp, chicken and lobster and sauces. Our favourite is the filet and lobster combo. All Grilled in front of you to your liking. Chefs are entertaining... More

Came here with a group of friends and would definitely come back for the entertainment alone! Watching them cook that food? Cool man. Fire burnin? Yup. Got that right. Cook the food in front of me while I sit and watch? Mmm hmm! That sauce? Wow, how will I ever eat my rice without it? Oh, that's right they sell... More

This restaurant stills give a good lunch treat. Good combination platters and the best Ginger dressing for salad anywhere. The Sesame sauce for the meal is excellent too. The chefs put on a good show and are very pleasant with the diner. A good experience overall and worth the trip. The Beef Tenderloin at lunch is a good value and... More

Went last night. Wanted to give it another try. Service slow not friendly. Chef didn't do anything but cook. No conversation. Or jokes. He was boring. Again spend 185.00 for blah food. Terrible atmosphere. Don't go. Don't waste your time.

We went a year ago with friends, and it was outstanding. But this time, we did NOT enjoy it. The menu has changed again. Last time they had tempura and it was very good. This time, they only had shrimp tempura, and I swear it was torpedo shrimp you buy at any grocery store. No soup. I was served with... More

Don't go expecting an exhilarating dinner show as I have had at other Japanese restaurants. The food, however, is great. We had the Teriyaki chicken plus the usual salad and veggies. The sauce was so good that I wanted to put it all over everything. Wonder what the special ingredient is. We shared our table with a young family and... More

We came as a group of 12 for farewell dinner to co-worker. First of all waitress was pretty good. Cook - Food was prepared in the wrong order. Veggies were heavy on the onions (filler) and a few zuchs sticks. Meat was cooked together with the shrimp and heavy on soya sauce, then by the time all was cooked and... More
