We came as 2 couples.I ordered the Cod and Fries my wife the Lentil Soup and Quiche. Our friends had the Quesedilla and Foccacia Sandwich. The soup was watery and flavorless the Quiche was dry and pretty bad.My Cod was something out of a grocer's frozen food freezer. The fries, again not fresh but a la McCain's freezer. The Quesedilla was missing cheese.I believe... We stopped at Memories after being at the Art Gallery. It was a lovely little spot tucked in a corner not far away. Walking in we were greeted by a friendly hostess. There was a nice selection of small brewery beers. Our disappointment was with the meal. One of our party ordered fish and chips - the fish was very... More

Had two slices of pie: one triple berry and one blueberry. Both tasted days old. Service extremely inattentive. Have been before but they seem to have lowered their standards. Love to support local businesses but will not return to this one.

We first discovered this lovely place on our last trip to Ottawa. What a hidden gem! It is off the beaten path just across the street from the National Gallery. There is an indoor restaurant but also a lovely terrace. The food was really good. My husband had the pasta dish and I had the salmon with a curry flavouring.... More

We stop in to Memories whenever we're in Ottawa (we've been there dozens of times). It has always been an oasis of warmth, with friendly staff, the best coffee in town, excellent tea, generous and delicious desserts (try the carrot cake!) and inexpensive healthy dishes. It's a bit harder to find since it moved over a block a few years... More

Just fabulous, ordered for five of us, pickerel on salad and burgers. Wonderful, so clevererly matched with flavour and well presented. Service fabulous, desserts made on premises and out of this world. Well worth a visit. Been in Ottawa since 1983, but change of venue due to building being condemned caused it to be quieter. Well worth a visit.

Hidden away behind the Earl of Sussex and Richard Robinson near the Art Gallery, Memories is a very good place for a leisurely lunch. We had burgers and pickerel--all excellent--and, of couse, desert. Long an Ottawa fixture, it continues the tradition in a new location.

The outside dining area is secluded, quiet and pleasant. The food was excellent. My Eggs Benedict florentine was particularly good. They seemed short staffed and we had to wait for our check, but the staff was polite and pleasant.

Dropped in here for our dessert after walking off part of dinner. The service was quick and polite, but I was disappointed with the range of choice for a place that prides itself on being a dessert destination. Despite a menu boasting approx. 20 dishes, the display case had only about 6-7 (while it was a Sunday night around 8ish,... More

Close to National Gallery. Good for lunch. Chicken skewers and chicken on Greek salad was not great. First time I see dark meat in these dishes. Ask for white if that is your preference! Dessert was good. Raspberry crumble was delicious but ice cream was melting when arrived at table. Not cool! Ask for frozen ice ream or send melted... More
