An long standing traditional restaurant in the centre of St. Catharines. We had forgotten what a wonderful dining experience the Blue Mermaid provides. We were a table of 7, including 3 generations ages from 12 to 75, and our reservation wasn' t until 7:30pm.all the dishes were excellent, the vegetables were freshly cooked, and all plates were served in a... The food is good, but the restaurant looks like it hasn't changed in 30 years. Time for an update with the menu and the decor. The staff and service is excellent, the food is average.

Food was great as well as the service. Only thing we didn't like was the downstairs chairs. We found them very uncomfortable and needed to be updated. Upstairs is sooo much better.

It is a fine dining experience. You will not be disappointed in the quality of they food. Very friendly service. It is expensive but that is the price you'll pay for excellence. Love it!

Happened to be in St. Catharines yesterday and paid my second visit to this lovely restaurant . Located near the market in downtown St. Catharines so parking is easily accessible . Restaurant on two levels . Downstairs is casual , upstairs a lirttle more intimate and formal . I appreciate the menu , atmosphere, ambience and quality of service provided... More

I have been going to this restaurant for over 30 years and I have never been disappointed. It is a classic steak house with great steaks and seafood. The cocktails are a generous pour compared to many restaurants and the service is professional and accommodating. The bar/lounge is a great spot for informal dining and has piano on the weekend.

It has been some time since we had dinner at the Blue Mermaid. We ate there on New Years Eve and things have not changed. Fantastic food and atmosphere.

In a positive way you don't know whether you're in the 70's, 80's, 90's or Noughties at the BM. You imagine that the interior decor, wood panelling etc have been there since the 'good ole days'. Service is consistent, considered and personal. Great conversation with some history and heritage there for all to see. Food wise, the Caesar salad is... More
