I had such an amazing experience at the Dakota Tavern. A group of friends and I took a trip there for brunch. We were quite a large group and the accommodated us with no problem. It's a family style restaurant with a blue grass band that plays. The food was absolutely amazing, and we will surely be returning!

This is a small basement live music venue with decent draft beer at decent prices. The attraction here is that you can see some phenomenal bands and dance your butt off or sit back and enjoy. Roots rock - country, alt country, folk, classic blues and rock etc. Reasonable cover charge at the door. Mostly 30-50 age groups.

i have often done the brunch here and thought it innovative and was a good deal if you come hungry. They serve platters that keep coming until you are full..pancakes..scramble eggs..sausages..fruit cocktail...potatoes... The price for adults has gone up to 18.00 and when we requested more sausages they gave us a tiny plate with 2??? hahahah it was a bit... More

Heard a lot about The Dakota. Neat little venue with great live music. Was on an over night to Vegas with a layover in Toronto. Checked the events calendar and caught guitar legend, Albert Lee at the Dakota! Double iconic!

Crowded, old, music sound was not clear (bad sound system) and strange enough that people are waiting in line to go in. Honestly didn't like or maybe it's not my style

This place was great! Was a little nervous going down the stairs but once we got to the bar felt at home. The music was awesome and the bar staff were friendly. It had a hipster atmosphere for a country bar but we still had fun! Would go back for sure

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
