Came here on a rainy day to meet a friend for brunch. I rarely go this far east in the city so I was happy to try something new. Even on a weekday this place was packed. We arrived before the long lineup started to build outside (thankfully!). Server was friendly and attentive. My friend had the spinach and cheddar... More

After all the hype, I expected a really good breakfast. Not exactly disappointed, but I would not bother to stand in line for this menu or service level. Menu is "OK", service is "OK"...the wait for either is "not OK".

Waited in line for about 30 minutes on Good Friday. I had brie, avocado and bacon eggs Benedict. It was very good, came with small salad and potatoes. Then we shared berry bread pudding...Now that was delicious, piping hot and a good size piece to share.

Dropped in for a late breakfast and waited in line. They only serve entire parties so if your peeps aren't there, you will be waiting longer. The wait was about 15 min, not bad and the space was fairly spacious. From their menu, they serve free range eggs, locally farmed food where possible and some vegetrian options. I had the... More

First visit to this restaurant. Ordered a meatball sandwich, with vegetable/chick pea soup, for lunch. The soup was great, and the sandwich was better. Service was excellent. Best meatball sandwich east of Spolumbos Restaurant in Calgary. I'll be back, and soon. Neil

Two for lunch on a weekday. We both had variations on the scrambled tofu. Lots of restaurants haven't figured out how to make appetizing vegan dishes, but this place nailed it. We haven't been in this area for a few years. Glad to see that it's on its way to being a great neighbourhood again.

A line-up (albeit a very, very short one) on a weekday morning is testimony to how popular this restaurant is. I hadn't been for years, so looked forward to a refresher on what all the fuss is about. The decor and atmosphere is pretty low-key, stylish and thoughtful yet unpretentious. The menu makes for some very difficult decisions: there are... More

There was a line up when I got there around 10:30am, I assumed there would be one based on other reviews I read. I waited for about 40 mins in line and it was well worth the wait- their menu focus is on local organic as much as possible and their eggs are free range. I tried the porridge with... More

Staying in East End

Neighbourhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
