I went to Luma after Fashion week and the experience was great. I order the Braised Rabbit Cavatelli and it was delicious! I loved the combination of apple, pistachio and squash, that really gave the dish some sweetness, texture and a very delicate flavor. I enjoyed it very much! I finished with the Luma chocolate bar which is one of... More

For those in the know, you may agree that it is somewhat unfair to provide a rating based on an experience with a restaurant during Winterlicious. However, I thought I'd provide a few comments anyway. I arranged for a party of 10 workmates to go to lunch together at Luma, which is upstairs at the TIFF Lightbox. It is a... More

Appreciate the menu for a business lunch. Food that is easy to eat, service is excellent, location convenient. I ordered shrimp tacos which were great. Others ordered Rabbit pot pie, an unusual but well received option.

Last night's dinner for 2 was delightful, especially as it is Winterlicious in Toronto. The decor is warm and modern, very comfy seating. Our reservation was confirmed on-line and Luma staff called the day before to make sure we were still coming for dinner. Our server explained the menu and wine pairings which we found very helpful. As we hadn't... More

I had the opportunity to go to Luma with friends for the Winterlicious, was an excellent opportunity to check out the great food. Started with a Wedge Salad which was out of this world, main course was the Baked Trout which was great and desert Pecan Pie. My friends had the short ribs which they said melted in their mouths.... Went for a Winterlicious dinner. Place was packed which is good. Problem was the food was just plain flat in taste. I had the soup and duck confit with wine pairings. No real taste unfortunately. I expected so much more because of who the owners of the restaurant are and it's fancy location. Waiter was nice but slow, my empty... More

The place was hopping! A very busy, and noisy place! I was looking forward to this O&B restaurant but was a bit disappointed. The service was a bit slow and the food just so, so. Not a lot of flavour just sorta blah. The carrots, I think were to be mashed but they looked more like they went through a... More

My husband and I went for dinner after Kinky Boots. The service was very good, starting over the phone when we called to change our reservation from before the play to after the play. I was a little bit worried on how the service would be as we would be arriving at the restaurant after 10 pm. My worries were... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
