I was visiting Toronto for a week with my boyfriend from Europe. We went here 3 times, twice for food and once for dessert and cocktails. They make great steak! Great atmosphere too! Highly recommend it

Stopped in for lunch and beer whilst out exploring Toronto. Order the chicken fingers in medium buffalo sauce.. wow! Besides being a decently large serving the chicken was fresh, tender, nice crunchy coating with a decent kick from the buffalo sauce.. highly recommend this dish! Topped off with a beer out of there decent beer menu!

This restaurant had reopened a couple of days before we went in and we had an early dinner before watching the Blue Jays play. Food was good, as was the selection of drinks, but we were disappointed in how disorganised the service was. We asked for a refill of a beer and 10 minutes later we were still waiting -... More

This Jack Astor's is located in the heart of Toronto - "Times Square" of Toronto. The staff were very nice. The restaurant was clean. The food was good.

I am a bit picky when it comes to a good steak. St. John's has plenty of places to have a fabulous steak...in fact the Keg is next door to Jack Astors. However, the price of good steak dinner in St. John's ranges from $40-$50!!! Insanely expensive. Jack Astors offers some more affordable options. An 11oz striploin with veg and... More

Outdoor patio seating on a warm sunny day encouraged my friend and I to eat dinner at this local. The wine list is small with a choice of a few whites and reds, a prosecco ; availability in two sizes of wine glass. The beer and cocktail menu is much more diverse. Blue coloured drinks appeared to be popular. The... More

The menu is the same here as at other Jack Astor's, but the setting is a bit different. Big room with lots of TVs, a section off to the right for restaurant seating. But this place feels a lot more like a bar than a restaurant. There is patio seating, nice in warm weather. Service was fine. A particularly young... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
