I will say that the atmosphere was great. The food was good but not mind blowing. We all knew going in that they were tapas portion but man the prices did not justify it. We all found it VERY pricey. We were all starving after leaving. Glad we went. It was an experience but won't be going back.

Had excellent Tapas at the place. For three of us we ordered 5 Tapas and they were enough (will require one more if people are hungry). Tapas in order of taste and liking into two groups (with soooo good to great categories) - Crab cakes/ crispy duck confit/ Calamari and Patatas Bravas / Winter Salad. Service at the table was... We were there for a quick dinner before heading off to an event! Everything was perfect! Great atmosphere, service, cocktails and Portuguese wines! The food was fantastic: 3 tapas... crab cakes, meat balls and steak tartare... all were exquisite! They recommend 3 to 5 tapas per couple... 3 were plenty for us! Extensive selection of Portuguese wines!

Salt has a wonderful ambience and the décor is warm and intimate. The ceviche was excellent; meatballs, octopus, and squid ink risotto were good. These are all small plates so you need to order three to four per person if you are hungry. At prices from $14 to $25, this is a ridiculous amount to pay for food that is... More

Went here for a birthday dinner on a friends recommendation - Incredible. Every dish we ordered was delicious. One of the best duck confit dishes I have ever had! Can't recommend this place enough. Will definitely be back!

Great place to go for tapas, very tasty cuisine, excellent atmosphere, perfect people serving you. Don't miss this place if you are up for some tapas, and one of the best places to grab a double espresso (it's so good that you would love to get another one)

Perfect place to start the night with a good glass of red wine and dishes to share. After dinner you have the whole of Ossington at your feet to bar hop!

My companion and I dined at Salt on a busy Friday night. Tables are close together, but conversation was not impacted. We ordered Mexican Standoffs and they were the highlight of the evening. This is a great drink! Additionally, we had the grilled sardines, the sea bream ceviche, the heirloom tomatoes, the grilled asparagus, and the patatas bravas. Everything was... More

I came with a couple of friends to celebrate. As I arrived early straight off an airplane, I had a few minutes to get settled. I sat at the bar and started off my weekend w a cedar smoked old fashioned. That was a remarkable drink! Highly recommend if you like a good old fashioned - and appreciate a smoky... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
