I was invited for lunch with family and was reluctant to go as I am not the greatest fan of Thai food. I find too much sugar is added in a fair bit of the food. I was pleasantly surprised when eating the food. It was well balanced and the taste was very good. Will definitely go back

Nice ambience and great service even when they were busy. The eggplant with tofu, baked seafood in young coconut and basil chilly fried rice are highly recommended. Will visit again. Highly recommended.

Just passing by and so dropped by for lunch. You can always judge a good Thai restaurant by its Pad Thai. It is true that the portions are generous but the lunch "Pad Thai Noodle, no Meat" was nothing to write home about. I was surprised at how gluey and gelatinous it was. I only ate half of it, I... We were walking by and stopped for lunch. I had their chef special green curry chicken. The food was excellent and a generous portion. Soup was good too. Spring roll was fried and I prefer fresh spring but it was ok. My husband had beef with broccoli. This is a good dish for those who don't like real spicy food.... More

Budget friendly delicious food! I am embarrassed to admit how many afternoons I spent eating here, but the food is so authentic, delicious and inexpensive for the quality! Portions are large enough for leftovers, and although service is not overly friendly they are very efficient!

If you are looking for a reasonably good place for dinner that also serves a beer this is your chance. Decor is fine, customers mostly couples when we visited, not too noisy or expensive & quite good service and food. We hunted up & down Bloor St & this was the most suitable. We're happy!

We have eaten at Thai Basil many times as it quickly became our family's favourite place for Thai food. The decor is relaxing, the food AMAZING, the staff friendly and efficient. It's a very popular venue, so sometimes there is a long queue, but it's always worth the wait! Highly recommended.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
