We went as a group of 16 so there was a preset menu, the food was very food fresh pastries and salad for the whole table to share followed by one of four item choices. Very limited choices which was unfortunate. This cost was 35$ very pricey for what you get. The service was very good, prompt, professional and quick.... More

Went for a casual night out and plan to return. The food was great and the service was even better. The waiter was very attentive. We did not want to be rushed but when he thought the meal took too long he gave us a round of drinks. The place was very busy but the service was excellent

Enjoyed a Saturday evening meal and wine and felt well looked after, in a good atmosphere. The decor is interesting, the ceiling spectacular! Fish main course was very good.

My friends (2 people) and I paid (approx. $600). The food was not good, especially the seafood tower. We ordered the bigger portion (costed approx. $160). There was only small amount of oysters, mussels, , shrimps, 2 small lobsters. There was no seafood taste to it. The mussels, shrimps and lobster was frozen as it tasted wilted in my mouth.... More

We were told its fine at the Hotel (they were subsequently coached on that topic ) . Server Mark , nice guy , the rest AWFUL the wine was 5 x what it... More

I went to la societe for brunch this morning. Upon arrival I asked the hostess for my boyfriend and I to be seating in the bar/lounge side of the restaurant to avoid tables of families with screaming children. I noticed that the middle section of the bar had very comfortable seating and had nice dim lighting as oppose to blaring... More

La Societe is a tasty French restaurant. I highly recommend the tuna tartare for an appetizer and the sea bass for a main. The sea bass is crispy and salty and perfectly cooked in a brown butter. Service was friendly and efficient during my visit.

This place looks great but is really nothing special. Service is very slow, the place is as noisy as a subway platform at rush hour. The food was fine however nothing better than you'd get at a diner for 1/2 the price.

This place either packed or has a steady flow. Regardless - the crowd is primarily local. The food is typical bistro fare. My only critic is that they do not bring bread to the table without asking for it. True bistros bring bread as soon as the order is placed

First time eating here on the weekend. Wonderful decor, very French. The service was very, very attentive. Sat in a booth in the bar area and the waiters/bartenders took wonderful care of us. We ordered glass by the wine and were very pleased with the waiter's recommendation. We shared a small chacuterie plate to start. It came with a sellection... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
