Fun place a real authentic Irish pub, slightly scruffy looking and coming down with ephemera. I know, I once lived there! The big difference is the food, which is excellent. We had the Oysters to start and ordered more. Then I had the Barramundi Fish from Australia, my favourite, it was spectacular. My husband had the Guinness Cottage stew and... More

Yes, some say it's small, and others say it's quaint. Some say authentic and some say eclectic and awkward. I say all of the above. This hidden gem is set back from the road and you could easily drive right by and miss out. No doubt about it, it's like no place I've been. This very old cottage and other... More

Having been to Ireland several times we were disappointed with this pub’s atmosphere. Service was lackluster and nothing to rave about with the food. The bangers were nice and meaty but had too much garlic and spices, and the shuckuterie was mediocre. Doubtful that we’ll return.

My daughter and her wife took my wife and me their for a belated 70th birthday bash. This involved a setup surprise which the waitress did with aplomb! The beer selection is good and mine was excellent. Food was pub food but excellent - I had the tasty shank of lamb. The restaurant is in two parts - an eating... More

Been here many times. A couple of weeks ago, had my daugther's birthday dinner there - she proclaimed it here best birthday dinner ever - oysters were perfect, and the sticky toffee pudding is one of the best dessert ever. Fast forward a few weeks and I suggested it to a business firend for a different dinner than the traditional... More

Loved this place! My friend brought me here for some drinks and conversation. We passed by the outdoor fire pit on our way to the entrance and were tempted to stay outside with drinks. Unfortunately, another couple had taken over the area and we didn't want to sit too far away from the heat of the flames. Inside we were... More

We visited this very quaint irish pub and restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. It is located in the east end of Toronto on Queen St . In the summer they have an outdoor patio that is quite sizeable the interior is cozy. The staff is friendly and the food was good. Of course who can resist the Irish. We... More

Great imaginative food at a very reasonable price. I had pork chops with grilled beets and apple perfectly done in an unpretentious Irish style pub. This is a real local not bought out of the Guinness catalogue with staff that appears to be happy to be where they are. I expect it to be my go to restaurant when in... More

We will definitely visit again. We found this place to be full of character and charm and good food and drink. We arrived on a busy Friday night and were going to have to wait at the bar but a table opened up right away. The cottage is super cozy with exposed beams, stone walls and its small size made... Staying in East End

Neighbourhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
