Great food, stellar service and our go to place at least once a week for family friendly dining! Favourite dishes are pork soulvaki, wings (ask for them baked), buffalo chicken salad and chicken fingers for the kiddo. They also have a good French onion soup and a popular Thursday night baby back ribs special.

Occasions is a nice little old fashioned restaurant in the East End. It's like stepping back in time a bit, like the 80's or early 90's. The place feels family owned and the service was fun and quick. An all-day breakfast is available an option, however I had the meatball sub. It was sizeable and delicious. My colleagues enjoyed their... More

Locals don't have any trouble finding Occasions because they know it is on Eastwood Road not Gerrard St E as many reviewers say. Gerrard jogs north a block at Coxwell Av. If you are driving east just go straight onto Eastwood at Coxwell. Even better take the 506 streetcar. Occasions is behind the Dollar Tree, just east of the Indian... More

A family-owned restaurant just north of the beaches & east of little india, the menu is varied so there is something for everyone - pastas, ribs, veal, wings, salads & great omellettes. Prices are very reasonable, specials every weeknight, good place to take a group. There are two parts - a bar on one side & restaurant on the other... More

Staying in East End

Neighbourhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
