We had 5:30 reservations, which are a must. Arrived a little late due to Friday rush hour traffic. We were told we had to be out by 7 pm. Service was rushed and hurried. Far to much pressure. This is a nice design of a restaurant but the E seats are q terrible design. Very uncomfortable. The food is not... More

Went with a small group, hidden door. Very popular sushi spot. A bit pricey but well worth it. Enjoyed the food, service is very attentive without being offensive and they can explain the menu to you. If you order "samplers" and others you can eat well, loved the crème brulee.

Great restaurant with tables and sushi bar. Food quality was expected for an a la carte restaurant, but the taste was underwhelming. The food looks better in pictures than it actually tastes! A bit on the pricey side, even for a la carte restaurants. The food presentation is top notch (and picture worthy) and that's probably where a big portion... More

Overall it was a delight dinner experience. Between two of us, we both order the lobster miso soup and shared a JaBistroll, Aburi, wagyu oshizushi and a kyukyoku. I would totally order the Aburi and kyukyoku again. I like their blow torch sushi more than Miku's. I say the food quality 8.5/10; atmosphere: 7.5/10; Service: 8.0/10 The bill was $220... More

We came here for their 5 course prix fixed menu for my parents' anniversary. On top of that, we also order some items off their a la carte menu. The food was delicious. The sashimi was very fresh. Everything was plated in a very pretty way. Definitely a place we'll be returning to.

Tried chef select for lunch. The quality is good. Though I have been to Japan and don't know original Japanese food. The style is not special than others. Small place, not easy to identify the gate.

Went in for dinner on a tuesday. Had reservations for six but went in early. Only one other table sitting at a table of two. Upon arrival they wanted to seat us directly beside them even though there were a total of 16 tables and only ONE was occupied. When asked if we could moved they replied "I will check".... More

I went twice during September. The above is an average of the two (first time, 5; second time, 1). The second time I booked although the first time I didn't. The first time, I sat at the sushi bar and it was wonderful. The pressed sushi was strange but nice. The sake selection is very good and the sushi chefs... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
