Probably the most basic boring dumplings I've had in a long time. Plain & ordinary, the skin is too thick & it falls off easily, the fillings are minimal with a lotta flavouring (MSG?). They're okay, the place is a dump too. Perhaps that's a spin on the word Dump- ling.

We stopped into the Dumpling Queen with some friends for lunch while in the city on vacation. The server was extremely helpful and her suggestions of dishes we could share made for a great experience. She helped us choose from many combinations of dumpling fillings. We had both fried and steamed mixed dumplings and they were fabulous. We also had a... More

I have lamb dumplings and fry potato for dinner today. Very traditional style, just like the Northern-China style dumpling I used to have in HK. The lamb dumplings are very juicy. I don't intend to have Chinese food during travel, however,

We have been many times to the Dumpling Queen and have had excellent food every time. We have taken many friends and family there as well and they have all remarked about the food. It's a family run, small restaurant right on Yonge, roughly half way between Wellsley and Bloor. It's easy to get to by subway, car or on... More

This is a great little no frills family run place on Yonge. I had a take away as an early dinner. The food was fresh and delicious (try the pan friend mixed dumplings!) and the prices very cheap. The young lady serving on reception was very chatty, friendly and welcoming.

We go here approximately once a week for dumplings. Either dining in or take out, the dumplings are always fantastic! Not much else on the menu is all that good, except some steamed vegetables, but definitely worth a visit for the handmade dumplings (also great price!).

i am writing because i do not want anyone to get sick, or support a place which compromises the health of its patrons. the staff is not allowed to throw away certain uneaten food - they will use it in another dish. this is from my own eyewitness. the dumplings taste great.. but how can anyone trust the ingredients?

We were walking down the street looking for a place to have dinner and found ourselves watching through the window when the staff was making dumplings. The restaurant looks just like a "hole in the wall" restaurant you expect to find somewhere in Asia and we decided to try it out. The regular dished come in large portions perfect for... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
